Jazz Club Theme
Posted on: 10/10/2005 05:05 PM
I shouldn't necessarily call it a Jazz club theme. I'll describe it and take any suggestions that you have. My fiance and I really became an item on a romantic night at my house. He came over and we both shared our writings (we are both novice writers), we ate cheese cake, fruit, cheese etc. Played jazz music for eachother and really just talked. We talked all night. And I mean JUST TALKED. I had met my life partner and it felt so good to be able to sit down and get to know him. The thing is, I had a sign that said "Honey's" on the front of the door. The apartment had a jazz/poetry theme to it. We would like to pull this theme into our reception. It is such an important event for us. Does anyone know how we can include this feel/theme into our reception? Any advice on the decor? Would you actually have a nice sign created and mounted in a frame to put at the front of the reception? What would you do? I look forward to your suggestions!!!

That's a great theme. Where are you having your reception? How about having a jazz band and singer. Or, you could just get a sax player. You could even let people come up and do poetry or you and your new hubby could each dedicate a poem to each other and recite it to the music in the back ground.

Great Idea!!!! Oh Phenom you did it again. We can make it like the Cotton Club and have black and white pictures of musicians up and everything. It will match perfectly with the deep red we'd like to use as one of our colors. I'm so excited!!! Any little ideas about details we might include?

Just ensure your cotton club theme does not over power the fact that it is your wedding. Incorporate both themes delicately do not over power one or the other. Good Luck sounds like it will be fun. :-)

Sounds like you've covered all of the major details, JH7997! I espcially love the BM dresses with long pearls & accenting each table with a photo of a jazz legend. Which part did you need help on?

I love marking the tables too! You could consider large Martini Glass centerpieces and incorporate Flower of Love Mulberry Paper Wrapped Sets we carry that have sheet music on them for a subtle touch. The flowers are red too!

Great theme Jh7997! As Cinny said you pretty much have everything covered. Rosetta has also offered some wonderful suggestions.
