What to get Him?
Posted on: 09/12/2005 11:55 AM
We met almost 2 years ago when my cruise docked in Jamaica. Some friends and I took a tour of the Green Grotto caves and Dunns River Falls. My fiance was one of the tour guides. The wedding is next month in Jamaica and I have know idea what to get him. I like to come up with unique ideas. I know that he likes gadgets and watches but I have already given him a watch and thats something that he can get anytime. Plus His b-day is the week after the wedding and the day before I leave to come back home. I don't think that he will be able to come back with me right away so I want to do something special.

Can you make him a men's spa kit? Maybe include body oils, salt rubs etc. Then you can use it on the honeymoon as his special treat. I also read where another member made her honey a scrap book with momentos, letters etc. Is he the sentimental type? If so, maybe he'd like that.

I want to do something nice for my honey also, he is the sentimental type. We met almost 18 years ago at a birthday party for my girlfriends husband. I think I would like to put together a special scrap book for him too. Do you ladies have any other ideas?

Ok umm let me get this straight you are going to jamaica to marry him only to have to leave? My fiance how is jamiacan is laughing after he read this blog. Your gift to him should be getting him to the states, to be with you so you can start your marriage together.

Awwww. That is so sweet. Lots of girls fall for their tour guides! My PR haidresser met her husband on a trip with her mother in Mexico and they were married 2 years later. So romantic.

Of 607 male and female respondents, 61 percent of men said that tech gear would be their gift of choice, yet only 19 percent have ever received an IT gizmo. My hubby is a technophile too. But I see that your man is also a romantic so:
  1. Photo Book You can fill it with pics of you and him you at work, etc so he can alays keep you and your words with him. I would add a love verse under every photo.
  2. Bose SOUNDDOCK SOUNDDOCK/ Expands And Enhances Your Enjoyment Of The Music Stored On Your Apple MA002LLA 2.5 Color LCD Screen/ Holds Up To 7500 Songs/ Up To 14 Hours Of Music Playback/ Holds Up To 25000 iPod-Viewable Photos/ Holds Over 1000 Videos/ White Finish
  3. Motorola Universal Bluetooth Headset 8 Hours Of Talk Time/ 200 Hours Of Standby Time/ Foldable Microphone/ Bluetooth Technology.
  4. Oakley RAZRWIRE Pewter Bluetooth Wireless Sunglasses These are MP3 sunglasses. THUMP.

My FH is an electronic gadget type of guy. I think he will be happy with something along those lines. Thanks for the suggestions Rosie!

Since my new Hubby is not big on taking pictures but loves pictures of me, I went to a professional studio and had sexi (not porn) pictures taken... I also had an artist paint me in lingerie... It was fun and he loved them both

My FH doesn't get excited about much, he's a noncholant type of guy. He does like me in boy shorts though so I may have to borrow SexiDiva's idea.

Light bulb! In the bedroom of the honeymoon suite I can leave a treasure chest with a sexy underwear set, body oils, champagne, fruit, etc! I'll have the picture hanging from the key.

My hubby is a clotheshorse so I got him his first pair cufflinks with his initials. We exchanged the gifts at the rehearsal dinner along with some gifts for our parents and siblings, and friends who helped out. He loved them to say the least....now he wants more different styled cufflinks....I guess its a little boring to some, but I know his personality and those fit right in...

The initial post was about wedding gifts. I was asking about Holiday gift giving -- sorry ladies for not clarifying. :-)

As far as Christmas gifts go, I plan to get my FH a new suit. We were invited to a holiday party on the 29th. He use to like it when I pick out his clothes, and he still does.

As far as a wedding gift, I plan on getting him a watch. There's wonderful white gold watch by Bullova. Eversince I met him, he's always talking about buying a good watch, but he's been so busy that he never bothered. Then we broke up and lost touch with each other. Would you believe that at our get together at Starbucks, it was the first thing that came to my mind and he laughed and said that he guessed he never really had the time to slow down and go to a jeweler to get one. I want him to think of me evevry time he puts it on, look at the time, etc... It's like he would be carrying me with him throughout his day.

I'm sure he will be pleased with both gifts Ginoue!

My hubby is so picky, but he like electronic gadgets so I bought him a new digital camera and printing doc. Hope he likes it.

Never thought about what to get as a wedding gift but a nice watch is a good idea - then at least every time he looks at the time, he will remember when and why I gave it to him.

As for Christmas, I'm getting him a Nintendo Wii - I've resisted getting one for a whole year and he's a big kid really(and I secretly want a go myself!!)

DiamondBride that is an awesome idea. My hubby bought one over the summer (after standing in line for over 2 hours) and we act like two children playing that game. My daughter thinks we are crazy, but it is sooooooo much fun!

Well, I thought we might as well enjoy it while we don't have kids yet - you know we won't get a look in when the kids are around!!

I spent three weeks looking for the Nintendo Wii becasue everywhere is sold out - hope he plays with it for hours and hours after this!!!

Well as you know ...my wedding is 3 days after Christmas ...about a month ago ...we went to pick out his ring ...I had him look at about 5 rings ...so that I would know what he likes, to place on ----say it with me---LAY-A-WAY :)

I just came back from swapping his ring out and upping it a carrat. I hope he likes the surprise.

After-although if he is a stickler for details like us women, he WILL know the minute you put it on his finger
