Welcome Michele! Congrats on your upcoming engagement/wedding.

I didn't do well with waiting at first. I am like a little kid! But then reality kicked in and I was reminded that patience is a virtue and that waiting on my dream to realize was worth it.

Anyway my sister, we want details, details, details. Do you have a date set yet? Do you know what kind of wedding you will have, etc. We love weddings around here and would love to hear about yours!

The is very romantic. We have known each other for years. We met at work but never dated. We are both very faithful and were seeing other people. Finally fate stepped in and we were both availble at the same time. So we finally start to date and things are great!!!!!!!!
He is the ONLY man I have ever met who loves me for me. Sadly my mom is very very sick and I asked him to come to the hospital to meet her. He agreed. I was afraid because my mom never likes any of my guys but she loved him. She even said he looked like her brother.
The next time when I went to visit her alone she told me to marry him and have kids. She flat out told me he is the only one she has ever liked. LOL
He is totally devoted to visiting my mom and even goes without me. I dont know how I would manage without his support with her being sooo sick. He asked her for my hand already. She gave her blessing.
I want a big formal evening wedding since it will be a first for both of us. I picked the ring I want and he says I can have it because he wants to make me happy. I think I will have about 7 bridesmaids which will include a "maid", a "ms" and a "matron" of honor and he has children so there will be a few junior attendants. We will have a churh wedding and then a reception.
For the colors I am think something bold and bright like red, orange, fushia, magenta, or pink. I want to keep the guest list below 150. We are looking at the Spring 2010. I want something classy and from the site i can tell you ladies are all about that!!! I think I put everything in.

Congrats michelerdh2005 and welcome to the site! sounds like you got you a WINNER [wink]:0 your mothers blessing and her fondness of him will make things so much more easier for you guys!! :) My dh LOVES my family...even when we were engaged, it was Mama, auntie, uncle (whatever I called them) and he fit right on in with my crazy crew!!!

Oh, but to answer your question--I was the opposite..I had my ring but waited until we did our "formal" announcement before putting it on--I accidently wore it to church one Sunday and boy-you would think it had a flashing neon sign on it that said LOOK HERE because we got alot of questions, so after that I took it off until the announcement!

I have a nickname with his family. Im "the one." As in the one he is going to marry. It is too funny. The waiting is just too much though because I have to wait for him to get it and then pick the right time. I could scream but in the coming months I will be on here telling the proposal story. lol

Hi Michele,

Welcome to the site. I knew my hubby was going to propose at least 3 months before he did. He wanted to propose on the anniversary of our first date, so who was I to stop him? LOL! I busied myself by looking for my gown and our wedding/reception venues onlne. Then went full force with the planning the day after his proposal. I suggest that you do the same. It's never too early to start looking at different ideas.

Welcome Michele. You and FH have such a beautiful love story. I also picked out my ring but only had to wait a few days to get it sized. I tried to stay busy and not think about it. Thank God it was ready earlier than they said it would be because I was starting to feel real antsy.

Yes but it is going to be at least three months because I wanted to go on my birthday (next month) to sit down with the jeweler and then I have to wait for him. He wants to propose so I will have no idea when he is going to give it to me and that is just too much for me.

since you ladies have given me the go ahead I think it is not too early to start preplanning. lol

I have already asked my fav girl to be my ms of honor and my other friend to be my maid of honor.

Seems like we have similar situations. You'll see how fast the time will just fly by, especially with the holidays.
