Re: Total Christian ceremony

Hello and welcome!
I wouldn't worry about being overly Christian with it-if you know what I mean. I would ask the bride & groom first what their music choices would be and go from there. They may surprise you.
The fact that its in a church, they probably are doing Communion, and lighting unity candles, the Lord's Prayer, etc, so I think the religious connotations are there. But this is about LOVE right?
You could always do the instrumentals of a song they like. But there are plenty of Gospel artists who fit the bill. Mary Mary, Canton Jones, Trinity 5:7, Kiki Sheard, John P. Kee's "Wedding Song" is absolutely beautiful, Surel, but don't leave out any beautiful, formal classical music by popular musicians such as Bach, Mozart, or other favorites.
I think it depends on the couple's ages, their favorite music types, and I would check to see what the music selection was at couples like Deon & Pilar Sanders, John P. Kee's Daughter's wedding, etc. But don't have a focus on making it ultra-religious. Especially if the couple themselves tend to be laid-back, cool, fun-loving, & romantic. We used a DJ who does over 80% Christian Music to young black couples, and the rest oldies & theme parties. But he had some nice music for us to choose from. You may want to find one like that. Also remember, other than leaving out any suggestive music-which MOST Christian couples do. You are likely to have a "clean" wedding without trying....They still need to have fun, and everyone should too without feeling overstuffy & "religious".
My younger brother: a Deacon, who married a Minister's Daughter had a GREAT wedding and an awesome music selection that kept everyone on the dance floor ALL NIGHT!- They did a lot of fun music, christian rap (they are young 20's), and oldies like earth Wind & Fire, etc. She walked in to a wedding poem & three praise dancers threw flowers as they danced slowly down the aisle. They did simple music w/instrumentals...
As far as their wedding song. It was by Surel (Maybe that is the "My VOW" song!?!?!). Its easy to find. Good Luck
