My neighbor was outside one evening when I was going to an event, at that point she started watching my comings and goings....(what?) She approached me one evening and told me so...(stalker) So she asked if I would mentor her because she's trying to get her event planning business off the ground...ok. She needed help doing her business cards so I helped design them. She asked if I would grab the cards from Staples for her since I was near by and she'd pay me when I got home...no problem. I get home she gives me a damn Target gift card to pay for her cards....(hell NO). I had to say a pray to keep from cussing. So since she had to rush out for work I suggested she leave them here until she gets off. The next day we go to the women of hip hop thing in Harlem together and I did a radio spot to promote my business. When it was her turn she repeated what I said verbatim...(single white female vibe) and when the dj made a comment about it she had the nerve to say "Oh she's almost to my level, I'll help her get there"....(heffa say what!!) Because I do try to remain poised and professional I just walked away and every time she came near I called on Jesus. She better be glad I'm not the hot head I used to be.
Fast forward a few days....she comes by to ask if I decided on the type of car I was buying yet because she needs to sell her Land Rover...you dis me on the radio and then have the nerve to ask me to bail you out financially...(honey here's a road map and the star is the exact spot on my a** you can kiss!) I declined the offer and asked for my money for the cards. She told me the gift card was given in place to cover the cost of the cards. I told her Staples wouldn't take the card and neither would I. She paid me and went on her way. Needless to say I'm done with the likes of her....

Oh my goodness, girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl!!! She lost her daggon mind. That is just a triflin mess and just straight disrespect. I am so glad you handled things in a mature manner instead of acting out of anger and possibly regretting it later. SMH

Okay, please excuse me for saying so but "eeewww". Talk about your "stalker bitch". Anywhoo, I think that was very magnanimous of you to take her on like that as a protegee. I usually don't do that myself and when I do, I make my interns sign a "No Compete agreement" for the duration of their intership with me. Some people just don't know when someone is trying to help them out. What is she stupid? Doesn't she know just how hard it is to break through on your own in our field? Wow, she certainly could kiss that great experience goodbye. I mean the nerve of her!!! And to have the audacity afterwards to pay you back with a Target gift card? Okay, now there's nothing wrong with not having a lot of money to start marketing your business. It just pushes you more to tap on your creative side and start seeing just how much you could have for free until you start having some money come in. Did she slip and crack her head open? After what she pulled at the talk show, she had the nerve to ask you to buy her SUV? What the Heck!!!
I'm sorry, I'm a bit peeved because I could easily see myself in this same predicament. I'm so glad you decided to leave her Ass in the cold because that's exactly what I would've done!!! I mean honestly, the nerve of some people.

Yep, sisters. She though I was super green.
I don't know what it is, but lately a view people have been trying me. The older we get the more we fall back into our 'WWJD' mode. Ten years ago I would have been on the news from straightening folk out. LOL!!
