Okay two months away and I am far behind!!!
My flower girls dresses won't be in until July 30 they have been on back order for awhile.
My limo company called on Sunday morning to inform me that my Rolls Royce would not be available two months before my wedding. I ended up missing church to find a new company and I did for $100 cheaper.
I still need to get wedding party gifts and gifts for our parents and I need to but FH's ring.(LOL)
I need to find a makeup artist. and a bridesmaid hairstyle.
Besides that I think I am little feed up with my wedding party. Everytime I disagree with one of them they call my mother like I am not grown. My Matron wants me to leave my photographers for someone in her family who is trying to charge me more not to mention my deposit I will be out of. Not happening.
ALl in all I am a little anxious and can't wait for my day to get here.
How do I post pictures?
MRS080908 what type of pics are you looking to post? Is it from a website or something stored somewhere on your computer? If it's something on your computer, go to tinypic.com and upload the pic. Once you upload the pic just copy whatever long code you see listed in the box that says something about message boards and paste it here. If pic is from a website, right click on pic, go to properties and click, copy the address/url code that will start off with "http" and end with ".jpg". Then inside the body of your post here type: "img" and then paste the address/url that you copied. Once you copy the url type "/img" The " is really supposed to be a bracket but I had to fool computer just now so it didn't think I was trying to post a pic. Also, there can't be any spaces between the very first bracket you type until the very last bracket you type. Hope that helps.

I think my ticker was acting up yesterday it was saying i had 2 months it made me feel like I blacked out for week but I see it's working now. Yes the 6 days does make a difference.
Your colors are very pretty and I love how the save the dates came out. Do you have a back up plan for flower girl dresses? July 30 is cutting it close for an Aug 9 wedding. That means any needed alterations would have to be a rush order which normally costs more. If you are working with a bridal shop you should try and negotiate free alterations if needed.

No back up plan but I am gonna take your advice and try to see if they can work with me on the alterations. For the rush order they charge $25 per flower girl.

I had such a productive weekend. We went to New York to handle some business.
I had my makeup trial on Saturday and it went great.
I also had a surprise bridal shower. The theme was a Hawaiian Luau and it was beautiful. I thought I was only having a bachelorette party on August 2 but they popped a shower on me. I will post some pictures when they send them to me.
I also got my marriage license yesterday. It took about an half an hour.
Great news! it looks like things are moving along nicely! Will your license expire before your wedding date??? In Texas the license is ony valid for 30 days--and if it is not back in the registrars office in that time, you have to file and pay for another one---

No It's actually good for 60 days in New York.
We won't be back in New York until July 31 and my fiancee thought that was cutting it close so that was the reason for the trip but come to find out that was just his way of getting me up there for the shower. But we have less than 60 days so we will be okay.

My wedding planner quit this weekend all because I asked for a receipt for some cash I was giving her for a vendor. I was gonna give her a check but she didn't want to tell me whose name to put it in. Honestly it's her lost and I am not even mad because I did mostly all the work in planning my ceremony.
On a better note. Everyone in the wedding party has their dress and all the guys have been fitted for their tuxes. All the alterations have been completed for the girls except my matron who is in England until 2 weeks before the wedding.
Everything is coming together still have a few tthings I need to complete here and there but hopefully it will all work itself out.

Oh ladies I had my first fitting on July 5 and my dress was very tight so I have been eating salads and running everywhere. I didn't let out because as she was adding up the alterations it started to sound like the cost for a new dress so my aunt told me to lose the weight because it would be cheaper. My second fitting is July 23 I will let you ladies know how it goes.

Those alterations can be very expensive. My wedding gown had to be ordered 2 sizes larger than I normally wear because as you know the sizes run small. Because of my pear shape, I already knew that the bodice would have to be taken in because the size was ordered to fit my hips. In 10 weeks, I lost about 7-8 pounds of holiday weight without doing anything extra other than going about my daily routine. When I went to my first fitting, the seamstress said I also lost several inches and that the dress would have to be taken in 4 inches on either side. Although it was a corset back dress, that didn't seem to help much with the alterations cost. So, there was that cost plus the cost of hemming a gown with a scallop lace hem, and the bustle to the back. The total sure was like the cost of a modest bridal gown. Since I was crunched for time, and just wanted my dress ready in time for the wedding and didn't want her to screw up the alterations on purpose or something, I just said whatever. She did a good job though.

Mrs080908 I'm so sorry about the fact that your coordinator quit on you, but look at it this way. It wasn't all that reputable because, you should be provided with receipt. In this business, it's customary if a planner is handling the entire wedding planning and coordination to receive the payments for the vendors. It all depends on the type of relationship he/she created with her vendors. But no matter the relationship, she/he should provide you with a receipt. You shouldn't even had to ask. You should be provided with a receipt for the services that you're paying for. I always make it a point to provide my clients with 2 types of receipts. For saving on time, the couples I represent usually make the payments through me because they always figure that I could get them a better deal with the vendors and that is true most of the time. So they would give me the money. I would provide them a receipt acknowledging that they gave me money for a particular type of service. Then when I contracted said service that they've paid me for, I would provide them with another receipt from said vendor. The thing is, when a planner has years of relationship with a vendor, the amount would not be displayed on their receipt. It usually reads that "services was contracted through Weddings By Mickaella". No prices mentioned, but the services to be rendered are always listed on the contract. Even if she only gave you a generic receipt on the spot, then when she reached her office, she should've printed out an invoice and mail it to you. Not a great loss though and please ladies, always get a receipt for all services contracted, no matter the method of your payment.

Ginuoe is right...A reputable WC ALWAYS provides a reciept! So no worries, you did right. I am glad all went well for you...You may just need a day-of coordinator to work with the week or so before to coordinate the flow of things....
As far as the alterations, I waited to get alterations after I lost the bulk of my weight, which was right after Christmas, then I went in for the first alterations...we did the second one in the end of january, and it was all done...The final fitting was like the last week in February-1 wk before the wedding, just in case...That whole time after the fitting I just watched my weight, and made sure I didn't go overboard, especially since I eat when stressed. I also stayed on top of physical activity too. I didn't want her to have to take it in again or take it out after that last fitting in January....and it worked out...My total cost was 300.00 of alterations alone because I am also pear shaped and needed to have the top taken in a little....Well that worked out good because then I didn't need an extra undergarment to tighten the waist, since the top of the gown itself was a corset..so I only wore a strapless bra panties and stockings....and the result was worth every cent!

She did have references but I realize now that I there were signs that she was not really pro. I like to have receipts for everything I just feel comfortable knowing that I have proof of a transaction.

Update My dress fit perfectly and we will be in New York tomorrow. i still have alot to do I guess it kind of creeped up on me. My alergies have been acting up like crazy. My Matron of Honor finally got in from London and I am so happy to have her by my side.
VI Princess,
I am responding to your question in Keepup Blog about shipping.
I had my dress shipped to New York last week and I was on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive. Didn't like the feeling plus I promised my MOH I would wait for her to do some things so we can go shopping together. The good thing about my bridal party is they are so willing to go beyond the call to make my day perfect, so I know once I get to New York things will start getting done faster. We call it all of our wedding. LOL
