Honolulu Hotels
Posted on: 05/11/2008 12:05 PM
Hey ladies,

Does anyone know of any nice, affordable hotels in Honolulu,Oahu (Hawaii)? We're going there for our honeymoon for 6 nights in July, so I want to make sure we get a hotel that we're comfortable staying in for that amount of time. I really don't like hotel/timeshare living, and I'm really, really picky about lodging. But, since we want to go, we have to stay somewhere. I'm looking for one that's really clean and not too old. Any recommendations???

I thought that all of the hotels had great prices, it is the airfare that gets me. I was thinking about going there and was going to reserve a hotel room until I looked at the prices on the flights. So I guess we will be going to south beach

I know housewife, we looked into returning to Hawaii as well for our honeymoon, but with the ticket costing nearly $1,000, we decided to do Florida instead.

Yeah the tickets will get you...Not to mention the extras for extra baggage, and you have to be careful on the way back (think extra shopping and souvenirs!)....

when I went, when we stayed in Oahu we stayed at the Miramar Hotel. It's perfectlylocated right down the street from the marketplace and 3 short blocks from the beach and it is one of the most inexpensive hotels that happen to be very nice. The Ala Moana Mall shuttle stops right across the street and there's plenty of eateries in the area.

Thanks ladies! We're currently in Tallahassee, FL so we're flying out of Jacksonville or Atlanta and the flight prices are not too bad. The round trip prices on Delta are about $744 per person from ATL and about $900 per person from JAX. That's to be expected going somewhere that far. Shucks, flights from here going half that distance are almost those prices. In plus, we only get one first honeymoon! But I'll look into 2bmrspotts' hotel, and Akitten, I'll definitely look into the one you stayed in as well.

Hey girl...you will definitely like Oahu
If youre looking for both your hotel and airfare...do a package
My travel agent really worked it out for us
We ended up getting 1 night free
we stayed for an entire week and the total cost was just over $2k and that was for the flight and hotel
We actually stayed right on Beachwalk so we were near everything and in walking distance from just about everything.

It was also cool because most of the excursions we did offered free hotel pick up from the area we stayed in so we didnt have to worry about getting around.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Also if you want to get a few quotes I can get you in touch with my travel agent just so that you can see what she can come up with.

Thanks so much 2bmrspotts!!! Wow, just over two grand for the both of you! That's great.
We are doing a travel package and we got it with the rental car too. Do you think we'll need the car or should we just wing it? Also, do you truly recommend the Outrigger? And I would def. like to get in touch with your travel agent ASAP. Thanks again.

Yes...a rental car is a good thing to have.
We didnt initially plan to use one..but after the 2nd day..we got tired of taking the bus everywhere. So we went and got a rental car. The bus was cheaper but it was just sooooo slow.

I loved the Outrigger Regency...where we stayed. The rooms were very nice and updated. Its not a full service hotel so if that is what youre looking for you may want to look into something else. This is actually a condo so there is no concierge, or spa, or anything like that.
We just wanted something close to the beach.

There is another Outrigger property in walking distance that has those things, there is also a Embassy Suites next door which also has those things.

I'll send you a note with the TA info.
