I'm set for flowers. A have a very talented lady who works with me and does our floral arrangements (I signed her on a few months ago). She will go to the wholesaler's and buy all the flowers that we'll need. She'll be making everything from boutonnieres to table floral arrangements.
Prior to that, I have this wonderful florist in Brooklyn that was going to handle my flowers for me. She was going to do my bouquet, all the flowers for my huge bridal party (28) Limited decorations for the church, and the floral arrangements for my tables all under $1,200. I use her whenever I'm doing a wedding in New York. I referred sensationablyhappy to her and she saved a bundle as well by ordering from her.
I also work with someone who does wonderful floral arrangements. We are using silk flowers. To cut down the cost I ordered the flowers from www.afloral.com
I was a little nervous at first so I only ordered a few. They actually were really nice! So I ordered the remainder.
Before that my FMIL was supposed to them, but she is so last minute on everything I did not want a sloppy job on my flowers!

Oh Yes, Ginoue, can I please have your florist info I was trying to do my own because of the crazy florist prices in the bronx but it never seems to come out right.
Sorry Pebbles I am not flower savvy but both the silk and fresh are nice but it all depends on who is doing it. I am too embarassed to even show you the silk bouquet I tried to DIY. My FH told me it looked like a dead bush.
is that lamars in montclair new jersey house wife,i love the fresh roses but florist are very expensive in nj so ive searched the net and ebay and found some beautiful silk bouquets i also found some wholesale florist shipping from ecquador cali and such ive heard so many horror stories about flowers being shipped dead or half not arriving at all or on time or i have to do all these different things to them to stay beautiful in which iam a very busy lady
I ordered my silk flowers from efavormart.com and bought some from ACMoore. I put every flower arrangement together myself, centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnierres, corsages etc. Save me lots of $$$$
I am using silk flowers for everything. My aunt does flower arrangements and she is making the boutonnieres, corsages, bouquets, and even the flowers for my reception. I think silk will be, of course, less costly but at the same time they look just as good and won't wither.
I am doing fresh flowers for all the bouguets and silk flowers for the centerpieces. Thanks Mrsmoose for the website (afloral.com) I haven't been able to find good silk flowers in the stores and I was nervous as well by ordering online. Oh yeah, I also love the how-to videos. Very Helpful
When I got married I decided on silk flowers. My colors were Navy blue and platinum and the silk flowers were perfect! I ordered them online. I also ordered some rhinestones which I incorporated in the bouquets for myself and my attendants.

Sorry that it took such a long time to get back to you mrs080908. As a Wedding Planner/Coordinator, I tend to get very busy on weekends and therefore travel a lot. Again, I'm very sorry that I took so long to reply to your request.

Do any of you ladies have any knowledge on freeze-dried petals? Do they really look like fresh petals? I'm thinking about using these for the flower gilrs and table decorations. That way I can have the tables decorated early and not worry about the petals withering.

I didn't use them but I ordered a sample from a company....Its been over a year so I don't remember the company name.
When I got the sample, they looked pretty good. And they old well. Unfortunately the only reason I didn't order them is because they were expensive for the amount I needed...Which was A LOT. I also ordered a sample of their silk petals and they looked good, and the price was right. Freeze dried are about the same price-wize, if you want white, they actually look kind of off-white, so I wouldn't have ordered the white...I looked at different colors, and they were nice....I think ordering a sample is worth it...Its usually no fee....
I will check and see if I find the company, but a simple google may do the trick...
I didnt use freeze dried.
I used the Dollar Tree special..LOL
I figured just decided that I Wasnt spending a ton of money on petals. I decided to put that extra money elsewhere.
I ordered mine from the Dollar Tree.
I was able to get a box of petals for just under $50(I think)
I ended up with a bunch left over and gave them to a friend of mine getting married in July.
Worked out for her too cause now she doesnt have to buy any
I know I am late but I too am loving your floral arrangements Queenbee.
Oh and MRS.POTTS what is up with that litle sexy saying at the bottom of your post. Girl I am scared to click on it, it might end up on my phone bill costing me 59.95

Ok so I am using Ginoue's florist but I don't know what color flowers goes with my colors. My colors are aqua(main color), teal, silver. What color flowers would be nice.
Sorry divas for stepping away from our topic, but MRSPOTTS, where did you finally order the little buckles that went with your invitations? I think they're great.
Does anyone else know where I could get my hands on some? Please?
I ordered my buckles from ebay. I wanted the square ones, but they were sold out. I got the circle ones for 75 cents a piece. I bought all that she had, but I can give you her contact info. if you want. She says she has a shipment coming in the mail. I found about her from a link in the "embellishments" forum. I think 2bmrspotts posted it there a while ago.
You can also find the square for as little as a dollar on yourinvited.com.au
Thank you so much Keithsbride. I've decided to go with my original idea instead, because although $.75 doesn't sound like much, but I'm going to be sending out 150 invitations and that $112.50, could truly be spent somewhere else. Now, if I could find some elegant plastic rhinestones ones for about $.25 each, I might be tempted.
Thank you so very much for replying so very quickly!!!
