Welcome to the sisterhood Steffeny11. We pretty much do what we want here to support our sisters. The only thing that's frown upon is solicitations. Other than that, you're more than welcome to our board!!!
Hi Steffeny, welcome to the boards. You've gotten off to a great start by introducing yourself. Now for the juicy details: tell us about your day, sweetie. Have you set a date? What's most important to you and how can we help?
I'm so brand new! We don't even have a date set. I've just started planning and we need to figure out a place first and the availability of the important people to us before we can pick a date. I know that we both want to escape to have a wedding where we can be intimate with close family and friends and then hold a celebration when we get home for everyone. We want to avoid the feeling of not being able to spend time with our loved ones during this special moment and if we had the wedding at home we would have to invite close to 500 people. It would be fun, but we think it would be hard. So I guess what I'm saying, what's important to us, we want to have a celebration with everyone, but we want the actual ceremony to be small.
I'll definitely let you all know the date once we figured it out! It really depends on where we go so we can make sure to go at a good time of year. We want beach, sun, hotel where we can all be together and a pool. I could proabaly talk your ears off with all my ideas right now. and every time I stop my sister sends me an e-mail getting me all started again!
Welcome Steffeny11! Just take your time and do what's best for you and your fiancee (and before I forget- CONGRATULATIONS!)
People get easily get wrapped up in trying to please everybody except themselves. So if you wanna have your wedding at an island getaway then go for it and have something when you get back for those who were not able to attend. In the end all that matters is that you and your FH are happy.
