I love "Beautiful Surprise" by India.Arie.
I would have sung it by myself coming down the aisle because its an ode from a woman to her man, and perfect for when you walk down the aisle. If you listen to the words it can be the other way around too.
There is a song by the Gospel Singer named Surel...I forgot the name (I'll remember later), but she sings about waiting on love, soulmates, God's gift of each one to the other....My brother and SIL did that on their first dance!
Girl I LOVE that song. That's the very first song I dedicated to DH when when first started dating. You know that song you dedicate when you first realize how you feel about them. I thought about having it sung at my wedding but couldn't find someone to do it justice, plus I would have wanted the whole guitar thing included. I also thought about putting the words to the song inside my program.
House, I had my Pastor sing "He Looked Beyond My Fault" during the unity candle. The lyrics are beautiful, meaningful and I think there is only two real verses to the song which was perfect for this part of ceremony.
