children's unity ceremony
Posted on: 03/25/2008 08:44 PM
Hello ladies! I am new to the site and I have been reading your advice to other brides, but now I need some help. I need some ideas on how to incorporate our girls into the ceremony. I was thinking about giving them necklaces or a bracelet. I also was wondering, where in the ceremony we would put this presentation?

Well my FH proposed to me on my birthday this year(Jan. 12th). At first I decided to get married in March 2009 and my fiance' said NO WAY!!!! "Thats too far away", says he. So we set a wedding date for November 29th, 2008. I am still working on a theme, but I do know that I want burgundy, black, & white for my colors. Any advice thus far would be great. Thanks for your help!!

Welcome mrsdhudson and congrats on your engagement. You are in the right place for advice. Many of the ladies here had very nice weddings that included their children so you should get a post soon from one of them with advice on what they did and what to consider.
Things remembered has some nice jewelry that can be engraved to include your children in the wedding. Some here have even exchanged vows with their children just for them. Sometimes they are included in the candle-lighting or in the ring exchange part-and you put their neckalace or family ring on. So you have lots of options but the ladies here are definitely better help on that subject than I!

Thanks for the ideas thus far! I am going to incorporate burgundy into the color scheme. I didn't want to totally copy my brother's wedding. I bought a black & white dress for his wedding(that I didnt get to wear, because his wife said it looked too much like hers). Whatever!!!!!! Anyhoo, I wanted a nice splash of color in there somewhere. Keep the ideas coming ladies! I also picked that dark color because of the November wedding date.

It will turn out wonderfully Mrshudson. Have you created your planning checklist yet? You should in order to keep yourself on schedule. Did you give your FH his schedule checklist? Keep the man busy darling and he'll feel just as involved.
We've all created wedding websites in order to keep our family and friends informed about our special day. You may consider doing one as well. It's a lot of fun for both you and your FH and you keep it updated.
Are you planning on doing DIY projects? Most of us are doing them. I'm on a list of 33 items of my wedding so far that will be DIY projects.
Please consider adding a wedding ticker to your page, that way, we could count down with you.
I just thought that the picture I posted didn't have much Burgundy in it. Well, maybe your attendants could wear burgundy and also the floral arrangements could be burgundy mixed. If you want a Black Tie wedding, then darling, you should have it!!! Your wedding, your way!!! That's our motto here at vibride!!!
Again, congrats on your upcoming nuptuals.
