Flowergirl Hairstyles
Posted on: 03/23/2008 06:37 PM
Ok ladies, once again I am looking for help. I am trying to find appropriate hairstyles for my 9 and 4 year old daughters. I want something nice, but not too grown. Pics of some hairstyles would be greatly appreciated

Housewife,
A nice style I always like on girls around 8-10 is the flat twists across the front with curls in the back or a ponytail, all up or half up. for the 4 yr old I would say a ponytail, maybe cornrowed up so it can last long without assistance of hairsprays and such. my daughter is going on 2 and has very fine curly hair and it took forever to find a style for her to have but i ended up choosing a small ponytail in the front with the rest out in her natural curls. i know of a site with little girls styles, i will post it as soon as i find it.

Shirley temple curls are always cute and very age appropriate. My flower girl was supposed to have her hair pulled back off her face with soft shirley temple curls so you can imagine my shock when she came walking through the door with the front part of her hair in small box braid pony tails, hair twisted with barrets at the ends. Talk about being PISSED!!!

I like the idea of Shirley Temple curls on your 4-year old. Bet she'll look very adorable. An your 9-yr old, a very nice ponytail in the back with Shirley Temple curls in the front would be nice.

Well I didnt want to put any sort of heat to there hair. I was thinking more on the lines of maybe some sort of designed flat twist or braids, with perhaps some curly hair on the ends. But nothing too grown

I think shirley temple curls would be perfect and you or your haidresser can just roll it and they could get under the dryer instead of using a curling iron with all that heat on their hair.
I think this style will also last all through the day for pics.

I like the look of shirley temple curls and yes sitting under a dryer is and option, however I hate getting under the dryer to get my hair done so I would not put my children through that. But thank you ladies for all of your help. I think I am going to go with some sort of flat twist or braids, but I just need to find some pictures of some styles

Oh goodness, I wasn't even thinking of having heat on her hair. I was thinking that you'd wash and condition her hair, the night before and set your blow dryer to warm so you could straighten out her hair, then you could roll it with those long spongy rods, not to tight though as not to hurt her scalp and wrap her hair with a scarf before she goes to sleep. Then the next day (your wedding day) after she's dressed, someone would remove the rods from her hair, but don't comb it out. You'd have instant Shirley Temple curls, without the damaging heat. You've got some time, you could practice on her one saturday for church the next day and see how they come out.
I did the same to my niece and she was adorable, no harsh heat.
