Ceremony Order for Programs
Posted on: 02/29/2008 08:40 PM
I plan on creating my mock layered program this week...
I need a little help with the ceremony order
First...let me say..I have no plans of going a long drawn out ceremony.
something simple that will include, the entrance of all the BP/ parents, 2 solos, a sand ceremony, and vows..
Any suggesions on the order?
Also anyone have a copy of their program they could email so that I could use it as a template for order..
Thanks ladies...
oh....my email address is mscreneet@yahoo.com

The Lord’s Prayer
Seating of Parents and Honored Guests - Never Would've Made It by Marvin Sapp
Entrance of Groom - Superfly by Curtis Mayfield (chorus only)
Entrance of Bridal Party - If This World Were Mine by Luther Vandross & Cheryl Lynn
Bride's Processional - The One He Kept For Me by Maurette Brown-Clarke
Greeting
Declaration of Intent
Prayer
Scripture Reading – Old Testament & New Testament
Exchange of Vows
Blessing and Exchange of Rings
Pouring of Unity Sands - For You by Kenny Lattimore or Forever by Jaheim
Presentation of Husband and Wife
Jumping of the Broom
Recessional - I Want To Thank You (version by Robin S I think)
------------------
This may change some but that's what we have so far. Keep in mind we're putting more focus on the ceremony than other people may. Our ceremony will be about 30 minutes. The only songs that will be sung in their entirety are The Lord's Prayer and The One He Kept For Me.

Those are lovely songs that you have chosen. I am almost certain the order of my ceremony will go:
Ribbons In The Sky by Stevie Wonder will start to play
Praise dancers will come out on the first half of the song, they will then proceed to the front of the church. They will have wedding wands draped with ribbons containing my wedding colors.
Parents and grandparents will enter the church and be seated during the second half of this song. After they are seated the praise dancers will continue their dance and exit the church.
Groomsmen & Groom will enter to Jahiem's Never
Bridesmaids will enter to Kenny Lattimore's For You. Groomsmen will meet them halfway and escort them to there spots.
My heavenly angel will then come out and announce the bride is coming
My flower girl will then be escorted down the aisle
I will enter with Kelly Rowland's This Is Love playing
Prayer
Scriptures will be read
Reading will be read explaining the four temperments, while we are tasting each one.
Solist will began singing.
While she is singing ushers will escort my mother and fmil to light the unity candle. When they are seated we will then go and light the candle.
We will then grab flowers off the table and present them to my mother and fmil. Returning back to our positions
The soloist will be seated
Wedding Vows will be exchanged
Announcement of Mr. & Mrs.
Fred Hammonds- This Is The Day will begin to play
Usher will place down the broom
Exiting the church

Wow, mrspotts, you're looking for something quick hey? But you don't want it too quick that looking back you can't really remember it without bringing out the DVD of the day.
Anywhoo, how about:
Parents' entrance and honored guests
Groom's and Best Man's entrance
Bridal Party's entrance
Bride's entrance
1st solo
Vows
2nd solo and sand ceremony
Prayer for the couple
Recessional
That should be quick, I think that would give you no more than half an hour all together. Wow!!!
My ceremony is super long (1 1/2 to 2 hours), but then again, it's my culture as we're having a Haitian Wedding.

I thought bridesmaids and groomsmen usually walk in together. Am I wrong, or can you do it either way?

Baby girl, you could have it any way you want to. I'm having my Bridesmaids and Groomsmen enter the church together. I've had some weddings where the bridesmaids enter on the main entrance of the church and the groomsmen to a side entrance and they walk to meet each other in the center, the groomsmen present the bridesmaids with their bouquets, extend their arms and together, they made it to the altar.
You can design your wedding any which way you want to Diva. It's your vision of your day that matters.

I agree with Diva G-any order of the bridal party is fine-your day your way!:) FH/BM are walking out together with the Pastor, GM, BB are walking down the isle on the right side, the bridal party is entering down the left isle. because my wedding party is not that large, that will give each person their moment to "shine"

You're more than welcome to use it sensationablyhappy. Your bridal party will need some rehearsal time though, but they can definitely pull it off. Wow, it will look wonderful.
