HELP ME PICK A DRESS!!!
Posted on: 02/27/2008 09:46 AM
Hello Divas!!!
You all remembered the gown that I thought was the "it" gown for my wedding from Mary's bridal? the price for it was $810 - $950 alterations not included.
I was able to find some alternate gowns along the same idea as mary's bridal, but for a lot less. Please let me know what you think which will help me make an alternate choice of gowns. It's not that I couldn't afford the $950 +, but it's more than I had budgeted for gown. My wedding gown budget is a Maximum of $600.00, alterations, not included of course.
Choice 1 is by Group USA and it's $549.99, Style #41770/9028W. Taffeta side drape with beaded appliques, corset tie back and chapel train. It comes in Rose and Candlelight.
Choice #2 is also by Group USA and it's $599.99, Style #41790 / 9073W. Drop waist satin gathered gown with beaded lace bodice. Comes in Candlelight and White.
I'm leaning more towards choice #2 because it reminds me so much of the gown from mary's bridal. There's another gown from Group USA It's style #7014 and it's $449.99 an absolute vision. Oh I wish I could post it, but I found it in a bridal magazine a while back and couldn't find it on the website. I tried calling, but it's always busy. So, what do you guys think?
I saw those dresses in a bridal show recently and the 2nd dress was my absolute favorite, I am actually considering that for my 3rd dress (lol, i know I know, im waiting til closer to the date though)
Real love requires a minimum of emotion and a maximum of the will - Bishop Keith W. Reed, Sr.
Side bar: Did you try getting quotes from netbride.com or pearlsplace.com for the other dress? I got my dress through netbride and paid 1/2 of what the bridal salon wanted.

I am definitey impartial to # 2. Its is a headturner! People will definitely remember that dress for months and months to come. While #1 is very beautiful, I think that wearing a dress like #2 is better because its something only few would dare to do. It gives people a chance to see you in a new light, so why not take advantage of something a little different? I promise you...the results will be beyond your deepest imaginations.

Thanks ladies for all your kind words. I also asked my attendants to vote on which gowns they like best. I am so in love with choice #2 and I'm going with that.
Thanks again Divas!!!
Oh, and thanks for the websites (netbride.com and pearlsplace.com). Never heard of them, but will check them out as well.
