HELP!! favor crisis
Posted on: 01/14/2008 09:30 AM
Ladies,

My original plan was to have silver hershey kisses in organza lt/dk green bags (to match my wedding colors) but I have decided to have a candy station (2 mnths before my wedding :) should I change what I put in the favor bags since they will now have access to the candy station and if so what? I thought about: wrapped buttermints with 'Thank you for sharing our special day' (still candy :(, candles, or potpourri..would love some more inexpensive suggestions!!!

I thought with the candy station, you didn't need extra favors...maybe you can use the money for the organza bags and provide a bigger, pretty favor bag for the candy station....If you already have the organza bags, then maybe a pretty candle with a cute tag will work as a non-edible favor....also check this site for other favors that can go a long with your theme.

I have already purchased the bags (150 of them)we also are having mini brooms with magnets decorated in our wedding colors with a personalized tag (already completed) and wedding cd's; after adding the candy station I thought the hershey kisses may be a little too much "eating" since we are having a sit down dinner...

How about still doing the kisses but putting them on the candy buffet table? Or are they serving as your placecards?

That's a tough one soon. The ideas I had in mind are the ones you and Bumble already suggested, candles or some kind of potpourri. Maybe the other ladies will have some more ideas to offer you. I'm also considering doing a candy station with 2 months left to go! I haven't really found that one favor that I just fell in love with, so I may end up going with the candy station.

Hello Everybody, I'm new to the site.
I have already gotten some great ideas from you guys. My husband and I are going to renew our vows for our 15th anniversary. (June 2008)

I have been stressing over finding the perfect favor but I think I will go with the candy station. I hadn't thought about that until I read some of the post on here. Thanks Ladies, that’s one less thing I have to worry about.

Thanks Soon2bmsj
I am all "hyped" about the candy station idea because it sounds easy enough but to be honest I don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

the key is to buy in bulk! here a the sites I am purchasing from:
groovycandy.com
orientaltrading.com
blaircandy.com
I am using an "old skool" candy theme: boston baked beans, lemon heads, whoppers, now laters, sugar daddys, pop rocks, candy cigarettes, fruit stripe gum, wax bottles, pixy stix, candy necklace and I am having penny candy bags (brown) with a personalized sticker with our name and 'Love is Sweet'. I am purchasing the majority of the candy from Groovycandy.com and the penny bags from blair.com.

Alot of people also use there wedding colors as a theme, so it is pretty much whatever you want.
