Hey ladies ...it seems like forever ...I've missed yall ...Happy New Year!
It's always 2 sides to the story ...
All guests, friends, and family ...absolutely loved everything ...from start to finish. My grandmother even told me, that I missed my calling ...I need to get out of the office and into a more creative field ...she even mentioned wedding planning ...but I don't know about that :)
I know how you ladies love details ...so Imma paint this picture as vivid as I can ...Are you ready? Cause we were on a roller coaster :)
Friday morning I got up to get to my 9am hair appointment ...the stylist didn't show until 10:30am then started 2 heads before me ...I asked her did she remember that I get married at 2pm (actually at 6pm) and was I going to be out by 1pm ...she said yeah and that she forgot WHATEVER, anyway she didn’t set me, she blowed me dry and sent me on by 1pm ...It was pretty BUT I know it would have looked better set first.
Ok so I get home and start loading the car to get moving ...I had to stop at the nail shop to get 3 nails repaired ...that was only 10 mins BUT I left my wallet home and DH had to go back and get it to find out that the tech didn’t charge me...
Back home ...the mother of DH youngest kids have been giving us problems since day one, she was the one right before me ...and for some reason it didn’t settle with her well OH WELL GET OVER IT ...RIGHT? RIGHT!
Well she called herself calling all Friday afternoon ...YES OUR WEDDING DAY! ...When her and DH got into a screaming match I walked up behind him and took his phone then closed it! The devil is a liar ...then she started the battle via text ..then it moved to me ...text and VM...the basis of her pleas were forgiveness so why are they/we arguing right? KEEP IN MIND THIS IS OUR WEDDING DAY-AND YES THE DEVIL I MEAN SHE KNEW THAT. She says sorry for all her actions but if you .... she sorry for keeping the kids away but if you ...I know this is your day, and I just want to say sorry but ...then it turned into forget you then, I’m glad you got somebody to spend your miserable life with ... (this part is a text, pay attention bc it has meaning later) “I see being nice to you don’t work so F ... you, I can’t wait until you get married, bc it helps me with what I’m going to do”
Our plan was to get to the venue at 2:30pm we got there at 4:30 instead ...but we had so much assistance, I was like thank God! So I delegated what I wanted and went to get dressed. :( found out I didn’t pack my gold shadow
...THE MOST IMPORTANT COLOR for a golden bride ...LOL ...I was so nervous that AFTER I got dressed I had to pee ...with all that stuff on dress and long veil! Then with the anxiety I cried twice before the wedding started and after I put my make up on...I was so mad at myself ...LOL
I heard my middle child (the town crier) say ... “Everybody please stand the bride is coming” but I didn’t hear NO BELL ...they couldn’t locate it...so she went on without it ...guest didn’t know and said she was beautiful and did an excellent job. (Me telling them they better find it ..LOL)
My cue came and I floated down those steps! It was magical, I loved it, and my son was waiting for me at the bottom (and thanks to Pamcrow holding my bouquet was a breeze) we walked down to the alter and guess who was boo whoing ...not DH but DADDY yall ...LOL real tears streaming down! And he put himself on blast ...asking us to “Pray for the Preacher” ...although he has done several weddings none as special as one for his daughter! Then he looked at me and “you are beautiful” Daddy actually couldn’t get it together, he stopped and started so many times just to breathe :) Then when he asked who gives this bride away ...my kids screamed “WE DO GRANDDADDY” and everyone loved it :) I looked up and noticed my one of our bestmen wasn’t there ...story is he was on his way dressed and ready to sing his solo, when he got pulled over for a headlight, then found out he had a FTA for child support, so off to the bookings he went until 3am .... :( (no solo)
DH did roll out the pink roses for me to stand on once my son left my side ...and you could hear my sister say ... “I know that’s right brother-in-law”! :) And the kiss was sealed with the mistle toe overhead, we found a small one that could fit in his pocket and he pulled it out at the right time. By the end of the ceremony Daddy still was shaken up ...announcing us as Mr. And Mrs. Nikol Whittington ...LOL
Daddy cried again actually all of our parents cried when we did our tribute to our parents :) It made us feel good!
Everyone loved the food! And all of my cousins which are younger than me with the youngest being 7 were dancing and they even had a soul train line ...my grandmother really loved to see all of them together having fun ....
The honey moon was really really relaxing we enjoyed each other and planning to go back! Even the ride up and back was nice JUST us :) We came back a day early so that we wouldn’t have to do PA to VA back to MD in one day ...we had to pick the kids up from VA. Plus we wanted to bring the New year in with friends and family ...so we came back New Year’s eve to a DISASTER ...our house was vandalized/burglarized ...
I’m not sure of the right term! Someone broke in through the back door stole every wedding gift we had except that was up against the front door so we couldn’t get in ... a computer, laptop, 3 tvs, 3 bikes, playstation 2, game cube, 3 dvd players, 3 heaters ...and the list goes on along with throwing bar-be-cue sauce on the walls and seasoned salt and paint on the floors ...my house is trashed and we are still cleaning up! They took everybody dresser drawers out including the kids and dumped them on the beds, ripped my clothes out of the closets ...oh and drank 3 beers and left empty bottles on the floors ...took the rest of the 24 pack out the fridge and 13 bottles of wine we brought back from the wedding. I was literally sick to my stomach!!!!!!! The police came right away and asked do we have any suspects bc that had to be someone we know. OF COURSE I DO ...and showed him that text message!!! He went back to the station pulled her name printed her picture and brought it back while the crime lab was there .... and yall know what he told us ...Look I believe in street justice so if you get to them before I do have at it!! That’s all DH had to hear. The officer said he couldn’t even tell us congrats bc this is not how you suppose to come home from your honeymoon! The winch even sat there and cut up 75% of my underwear!!!!!!!! Who the hell does that????? I couldn’t image touching anybody else panties!!! And yeah JUST mine ...
After we got ourselves together ...I told him, you know what ...I’m not letting the devil take control ..we going business as usual ...we went out to have a nice dinner at Capitol Grille and proceeded to do what we do have fun! We partied the New Year in ...and went back to a hotel bc we couldn’t see our bed ..>LOL
I thank God for the peace that I have within, for the knowledge of knowing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, for having faith that there is a blessing in the storm, and for homeowners insurance bc the devil just brought me a rack a new things ..>LOL

I just sat here speechless as I read the details of your post. Girl, you are a very strong woman to "brush your shoulders off," then "wipe them down," etc... LOL!! Welcome back Turiya- wow you cant tease us with just the one romantic picture- you know I am with the girls we all feel like we were there with you. And you know what- don't let anyone try and rain on your day- she tried, and when it didnt work she went mad!!!!! Apart from the shock and the utter disrespect she showed you- she is actually the one who is suffering the most. WOW- people are so sad...I feel so sorry for her, seriously she needs some prayer. LOL really you must have the best thing since sliced bread, and the sisterhood will be there as back-up- IVY- gather the troops!!!

And through it all you managed to come out Golden...And ya'll look good too. God will have His way, you can bet that...I mean its too bad she acted like that cause his kids mom are going to JAIL...and if not, I would put her butt on blast like a mutha! Shoot, you are good, cause I would have been on her doorstep that night!
Thanks ladies ...it's brewing but I REFUSE to let my outter expose what's going on inside me ...why should her pain be quick and easy ...I want the antisipation to be slow and not altered by my emotions ...My Father can fight my battles better than I can ...and I actually like enjoying the show instead of getting my nails dirty :)

Thanks Pamcrow! I've actually been working on my invitations for the last few days. I had to fold 150 invitations, reception cards, and rsvp cards, and then tie bows on all of the invitations! I've been pretty busy around here, but I just finished tying the last bow! My goal is to mail them off between Jan. 18-22.
Your pictures are beautiful Turiya! Everything came together so nicely. I was laughing to myself because on the one picture, it looked like you were breaking it down to someone...LOL!! (the one where the photographer is looking over your shoulder)
Honry - your story (the good part!!) was beautiful. You looked so stunning in your dress and you both looked so happy!! As I was reading through your story, my face went through so many different looks! As I came to the bit where you were burgled, I was like one of those people who shout at the TV and say "I know who did it!!"
I'm so sorry about your house and that woman will get what's coming to her. Trust me - I know about baby mama drama, but that is one brave woman to do that and know that she might get caught.

Girl my DH is a skinny little thang ...so as for who was in the pic ...all I'll say NO that's not him (or me) ...LOL
Have at the hairstyle ...it was thought of while in the chair..it's soft waves in the front and pin curls in the back with drop curls throughout ..you remember how many times I changed my mind on that ...and several other things ... :).

Mrs T. I'm so very sorry about all that you both experienced during your wedding day and upon your return from your honeymoon. I agree with the investigator, no one deserve to come home to what you did.
But oh sister, you were a dream on your wedding day. All smile and brightness. It was obvious that you were very happy, in spite of the "you know who" drama.
I also checked the additional 100 pix, very, very nice Diva!!!
