The reason I havent booked yet is because I want a prints!!!!! So I am still looking
Try to find a photographer that allows you to have the copyright to your photos that way if you want to reprint them at a later date you can and you don't have to go through the photographer to do it.

Make sure you get more than one video camera and editing included....We used a friend who was just starting in the business, had one camera, and it was unedited....he is so talented, that it needed very little editing (my DH the computer nerd edited it) and it was $150.00...but if you can edit it...pay for the service and tell them which parts of the events you want the most focus on.....
We paid 800.00 for our photographer (another newbie inthe biz) and it included:
Engagement photos
Wedding incl. Pre-ceremony/bride, groom, attendants dressing
All the photos on our photo list incl group and family photos
Photo Album
2 copies DVD and CD/ROM slideshow with music, finishing, and all the rights to our photos
4x6 print of each finished photo in a beautiful box (over 230 photos done)
No prints were included in this price
Unfortunately since March his price has doubled as demand has increased, and even at 1600 he doesn't offer this little bit anymore...so we were blessed because he was a friend of a friend and we were his first PAYING couple...
MrsReed2be, your videographer prices are good. We paid $1700 for what's included in the Platinum package. We only got 1 DVD at the price, and it was $10 for each additional. The videographer we used was new to our area so our price was considered a discount. Everyone else was $2000 or more for that type of package. Keep in mind though I live in New York where unfortunately EVERYTHING costs more.
