FH left everything to me and said whatever I decided was fine. All of a sudden after I have done my research and found a person to duplicate the cd and someone to print our photo on the cd he changes his mind.
He says that the songs of our wedding are our special memories and he doesnt want anyone else to share that geesh....
I dunno, I dont want the typical candy which he is suggesting and I definitely am NOT doing the classic matches and napkins.
what about candles? those are relatively inexpensive and you can have the votives engraved with your name/wedding date; go check out www.orientaltrading.com-they have nice inexpensive items
You could always cry until he gives in ... That worked for me when I was planning my wedding. Lol. Just kidding (mostly). Really though, there are SO many unique favor ideas. I'm sure there is something you'll find that you can both agree on. We had a fall wedding and did these little leaf-shaped cookie cutters that were attached by a ribbon to a card that said "Truly Fallen for Each Other" and had a sugar cookie recipe on it. I actually saw one of the male guests grabbing a handful b/c he said he and his daughter bake cookies together a lot and they could use them. Trust me, there's lots of things to choose besides the napkins/matches/candy favors. Good luck!
I agree with the ladies there are so many other inexpensive things you can do for favors. I bought some glass coasters, not as favors, but I included them in the gift bags of some of people that helped with the wedding/planning. They come in a set and they seemed to go over quite well because both men and women can enjoy them.

I definitely say to compromise. You could still have your cd with other songs inspired by the love that the 2 of you share and whatever other type of favor that he wishes ~ oh hey, if you haven't figured anything out yet, how about candles? Orientaltrading.com has some truly cheap ones. I use them all the time and they ship right on time always.
I love the CD favour idea (I intend to have one myself) but I'm struggling for tropical / valentine's day themed favours. I know how difficult it can be to find the right favour for your guests to enjoy - but stick with it, you'll find something you'll both like! I'm liking the coaster idea....
Yeah the price for those favors were amazing. And I figured they weren't one of those favors that just get thrown in the back seat of the car and left there.
Ivy, I'm loving the chocolate covered pretzel idea. Let me research that.
