I am struggling with the choice of a live band or a dj... I have a friend that plays in this band www.anythinggoeslive.com and they are not too expensive... Or just have a bj... Church folk will be there so I was thinking that if i had a band they wouldnt know what they were rocking too... deceiving i know lol.... Just a thought
oooh the band sounds great! I think it would be a nice change from the norm! :)
Can I come to your wedding? I may try to setup trng in NC just to be there so I can Party like a rock star, party like a rock star... LOL
I would say weigh the cost of both, if you can get a live band for the same or lesser price than a DJ, I would go for the band. But that's just me. I would prefer "live music" over anything else. Don't worry about the "church folks" that will be there. Remember they just got saved they didn't get amnesia, they still remember how to party....LOL
Haha, its only 400.00 for 3 hours but I dont even plan on being at my reception for that long... well at least FH doesnt...hehe and i didnt even price a dj. Not really interested in the dj... But trying to figure out how we can play our 2 wedding sounds that he wants played...

I think with any saved folks, as long as there is no cursing or derogatory music, overly sexual music, they will at least get up...Throw in a few songs where they can do the electric slide, cupid shuffle, and that song with the jumping and hopping, and they will be fine....My brother-a deacon had all kinds of music, oldies (Maze, michael Jackson, Luther, Parliament, all the Tom Joyner faves), new ones (Cupid Shuffle, Come on and 2-step!, African Music-wife's heritage-funny ones ("Kimosabe, Jump on it!"), and everyone, the elders, ministers, children, old folk had a ball! There was some hip-hop Christian music, Mary Mary too.....they like to show that they are not boring too....and weddings with the right music are always a time they have some fun!
I would really like a live band but I worry that people wont really dance to a live band.... They will just sit and listen... Like it soon2bmsj said, it would definitely be outside the norm and i like the idea but i want people to have fun too
I think everyone will get up and dance. Especially if they appreciate "good music". Another thing will be in the band is just instrumental or if there's a vocalist too. I wish the bands here were cheapier b/c that's the route I would have taken for sure.
I have a girlfriend that's getting married next August and she's having a live go go band. (We live in the DC area and GO GO music is huge here)

I agree with Rhony. People will get up and dance regardless as long as the music is engaging. Welcome awesome member ~ MrsReed2bee ~ waiting to welcome you as a Diva as well.
