Veil
Posted on: 12/22/2007 08:13 PM
Where does everyone plan to go to get your veil and what type will you wear?

I have found out recently that veils can cost a arm and a leg...LOL

I really dont want to pay hundreds of dollars for one. Ive found a few on ebay that I like that are not very expensive
I may go ahead and purchase one just to see how it turns out.

Hopefully it will work out fine and I can pocket all the other money I wouldve spent if I were to get it from one of our local bridal shops in ATL

Hi 2bmrspotts. Veils really range in price. Most people can't tell the difference between a $1500 VEIL AND ONE FOR $30. WE carry a good range of bridal veils.

I'm actually not wearing a veil, so I'm not too familiar with the prices. I will be wearing a tiara, and they are rather pricey also! I'm thinking of buying one online as well to hopefully save some money!!

your right Rosetta, you can't tell the differnce between the higher pried ones and the cheaper ones. I acutally found a viel at my local art and crafts store and it was a lot cheaper it looked better than most I've seen.

I bought my veil off of e-bay for 15.00. My Aunt steamed it for me and you couldn't tell the difference. I couldn't believe how much veils cost in the store.

I spent 20.00 on mine from Michaels....The same one was in David's Bridal for the same price, but they had just discontinued it....After that, they go up from $40.00+....I mean, I am letting a friend hold it and I won't be wearing another one any time soon.....If you can get someone to sell you theirs or borrow, that can work too....

I was shocked when I saw how much veils cost. My mother recommend that I make my own, but I've got plenty of other DIY plans going on before the big day. I'll just purchase a nice fingertip 2 tier on Ebay.

They are actually not difficult to do if you have a few months left.....with the money I spent (only 20.00) to buy a little simple 2 tier veil, I could have made a more elaborate one and saved 50+ dollars on what it costs to have that elaborate cathedral veil...or longer!

I looked up DIY veils. They look easy to make. Im leaning more towards making my own birdcage veil for my reception. I went wedding stuff shopping yesterday and nobody carries them on hand! One shop owner told me that I would be better off making one for myself.

I'm going with a fingertip veil and blusher. Definitely DIY.

Sensationablyhappy, I'm in the same boat as you on price. My 2 tier veil was $285 because of the embrodery, glass beading, and customizations I had them do (added length to cathedral tier, added fullness, and tear away velcro for cathedral tier). Then I had the nerve to glue rhinestones on it myself for added aparkle.

Rosey, that was my exact thought after my wedding, pass it to my daughter. I have it hanging all nicely in a closet, meanwhile my dress is still in the same garbage bag I used to carry it out the hotel we stayed in on wedding night. Not sure what I'll ultimately do with that.

I'm willing to pay for a nice silky, embroidered veil just to have a beautiful picture like this with FH.

I've seen pictures where the veil is too stiff or it doesn't cover the couple enough and they are looking awkward.
