how many of you ladies are wearing your engagement ring in the ceremony and just letting FH put the band on your finger, or just the band without the engagement ring or the whole set? I have seen it done all ways...

I gave my MOH my engagement ring before I walked the aisle so that when DH put my band on I wouldn't have to remove it first. My MOH gave it back to me during the receiving line.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand. As we were exchanging rings I took off my engagement ring. My husband put my wedding band on first and then he put the engagement ring on top of it. It worked out quite nicely.

Though it is customary to hand the bride's engagement ring to the MOH the night before the wedding, I guess bottom line is up to that individual.

In our culture, we're not allowed to walk into the church with our engagement ring on. We tie all rings on the ring bearer's pillow. Then when prior to exchanging the rings, the Best Man will untie the bride's ring set and hand it to the pastor, the MOH will untie the groom's ring and hand it to the pastor, who will in turn bless both sets of rings prior to exchanging the vows.

I guess it's a cultural thing, but which ever way you choose to do it is fine.

You may be right Ginoue, most of the people in my family that did get married did so at the court house. I wasn't aware of any traditions -- I guess I just made my own -- LOL!!!

I gave my engagement ring to my coordinator, and my hsband but both of them (wedding band first) on my finger at the suggestion of my coordinator..

BTW, I sent my engagement ring to be cleaned and dipped in rhodium so that it would be shiny again as if I first bought it...It takes about a week, but who wants a semi-shiny ring, and a brand NEW shiny ring on their wedding day>

I definetly plan to have all of the rings cleaned and put up a few days before the wedding so they will be blingalicious! LOL

I don't have a wedding set. I'll hand over my ring to my MOH for the day and in the moment he places the ring on my finger, my engagement ring will be my wedding ring.

Oh my goodness, I felt like I've been away from you for so long!. I've missed so much!

I didn't realize that there was a "tradition" as to having your engagement ring on at the ceremony. I like the idea of placing the ring on your right hand.

I put my engagement ring on my other hand for the ceremony and then I put it back on my ring finger for the pictures.
