Hello All,
I am new to the board. I moved to Atlanta about 8 months ago to be with the man of my dreams!! I was wondering if anyone on here used to Gilbert House for a wedding (past, present, future), or attended a wedding at this venue. I am thinking of using it and wanted to know pros and cons and hopefully see some photos. Thanks !!
Welcome to the board misswright1113! I think one of the ladies had her renewal ceremony there. Look in the Wedding Photos forum for GeorgiaGurl's pictures. I may be wrong but it sounds familiar. HTH!
I am looking at the last weekend in April of 08'. My fiance wants a small, intimate, and romantic affair at an elegant restaurant or at a bed and breakfast in Savannah, Ga . Not me!! I want to party. I am from up north but I want a beautiful outdoor southern wedding. The venue I am looking it is absolutely beautiful. It is a restored historical site in Atlanta that has the prettiest Magnolia trees I ever seen. I would be a true southern belle !!! It is so hard to decide because I just relocated here and I am still looking for employment so I am not trying to break the bank. We want to proceed with the wedding asap in spite of my job situation, because we feel that the reason God has not blessed me with a career yet because we are shacking. I assumed it would be easy her with a master's. But everyone in Atlanta has a master's so it is extremely competitive.
misswright1113 another suggestion for venue in ATL is a place called Anthony's located at 3109 Peidmont NE. It's an old plantation house that is located right in the city but once you turn into the driveway you forget you are in the city. Beautiful setting and good food. My cousin had an early wedding (11:00 am) there in August and it was gorgeous. She was working with a very small budget and had a little under 100 guests. Her wedding was inside because she has bad allergies but the venue was setting up for an outdoor wedding that was to take place that evening. Might be worth you checking out.

I will check out Anthony's. Thank you everyone for welcoming me. I only have one girlfriend in Atlanta and no family- so it really helps to be apart of this community!!!
Welcome MissWright- i cant think of a better place to get married than Georgia- its beautiful and has that Southern comfort- hmmm! Sorry no local knowledge though- i only went to school in Macon GA for about a semester- so I was out of Atlanta most of the time
