Bamabride used an online RSVP. Maybe she'll respond. Her wording should be in one of the posts (I remeber her asking how it sounds). I'll try to find it.

My brother did it....of course here are a few problems that occured:
1. My family members (especially grandparents, older aunts and uncles) were not computer saavy, so it was up to me to RSVP for me and my husband and his whole family, our mom, and our dad's side of the family...And I ended up having to do it in spurts cause the phone calls came sporadially....its was fine, but very annoying. Plus when they emailed the confirmation, they just kept saying..."The Montgomery Family is RSVP'd...I never got a confirmation of those on the list....Especially since my in-laws were not Montgomerys
2. The person in charge of the online RSVP's (MOH) waited until we were leaving for the church to print out the final list....This was annoying, because overall its just slipshod and late....so have a person in charge of that who is not in the bridal party-like the wedding coordinator
3. Check it once a week-Don't just depend on the person who delegate the task to it....meaning...they report that update to YOU and FH....That way, since its both your families, you can check the list, see who is not on it, and then follow up with them to see why they have not RSVP'd/...it could be lack of being able to get to a computer, or make the page work....in the last month...check it 2 times a week.
I always sound like the party/idea pooper here...but I am trying to make sure you think ahead so you can troubleshoot as needed.....Its worth it (especially saving paper) if you plan properly!
I'm thinking about doing it for some folks and not for others, for example my friends and those my age will use it. Those that are not will not and I will update the list manually when they send in their replies.
I am thinking of using my wedding site to allow folks to RSVP but I'm using theknot guest list manager to actually do the RSVPs. I may be adding more work to myself doing both, but since I have a coordinator that is really on the ball, it will give me something to do, lol.

Some people may feel like its not and "official invite" if they don't get a mailed invite and others do....One thing thats an option is to do both.....well..those with email addresses (mostly younger folks) would get the email invites anyways.....If the fact that some people may be a little miffed at not getting the mailed invite bothers you at all....if not...all the better....also, if some people are like me....I like getting the invite because its like a souvenier to get people in the feel of the wedding....I actually collect and save the ones I recieve as keepsakes....i just love to see the different ones and colors...it gets me ready for the feel of the upcoming wedding....Formal, casual, fun? So actually, the mailed invite, is just the start of things to come....Just my 3 cents...

Hello Ivy, it's always great to send out formal invites yet giving your guests the option of mailing out their RSVPs or doing them online. Bumble was right though, you MOH should be vigilent in tracking your RSVPs as well as your Planner, if you should happen to have one. You should also give a deadline for those RSVPs and stick with it, so that you will be able to make follow up phone calls to those whom haven't either way.

Oh okay....even still with the RSVP's, its just like Ginuoe says....
You are welcome Ginuoe....I saw the "what not to do" when it came to online RSVP's so I thought I's share that....
Thanks for all the advice Bumble.. I think I will do a hybrid like some of the other sisters.. Send invitations and allow them to RSVP by email or by mail... This will be interesting! :)
