Turiya's Blog
Posted on: 11/21/2007 09:57 AM
Well ladies ...is it time to start my blog? We are a month away ... the next holiday and we're there ...

So where should I be, I'm having a hard time trying to remember everything and my bridal book is getting very thick ..:) You ladies have been very helpful ..and I know I've gotten on some nerves ...my apologies .. :)

You know at first ..I wasn't wear a veil nor tiarra ...I've since decided on doing both ...so what do you think?

and tiarra I ordered ...

Ok where am I?:
1. My dress will be ready saturday ...everybody else has their attire and jewlery ..oh I have my jewlery too (in the pics)

2. Favors came in yesterday

3. Centerpieces came in today

4. Doing the runner this weekend

5. Finishing the programs sometime next week (bc of the addition)

6. Put together the corsage and bouts (I have the stuff) ...deciding on putting on their wrists (corsages) or shoulder blade? Which do you think?

Ok ...what else do I need to do? Oh and Imma add beads to the bottom of the veil like the top of my dress PROBABLY this weekend ...

Thanks Ivy and Dee! I like the wrist ones too ... It just feels like some small things are missing ..while I may have the big things mostly together ...

What are the little things that needs to be taken care of?

Uh OH ...I just read were some BRIDES are even wearing wrist corsages! What you think about this????

Imma kinda liking it because my entrance is walking down the steps from over top of everybody and I wasn't coming down with the bouquet anyway (will be holding my dress up in one hand and the rail in the other) my son was going to hold it until I came down to him ...

I don't know if both is a option or not ...but what do you think of the wrist thingy for ME????

Turiya, that gown is simply elegant and stunning. You are going to be so beautiful. I just like your whole ensemble. The veil and tiara are amazing! Can you believe how fast time has flown. Take it from me a month is going to fly by so fast you won't believe it -- so put it in cruise control for the remainder of your planning and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!

WOW Turiya, very nice!!! I'm loving the ornaments for favors. I can't wait to see you're wedding pics. I did wrist corsages for my wedding because alot I didn't want to make holes in anyone's formal wear. As far as your flowers, have you thought about holding long stem flowers across your arm. You would still be able to hold your dress with the same hand and it would be a little more elegant than a corsage. You are the star of the show and deserve more than a wrist corsage.

Between the ornament and bouquet, I vote bouquet. I say long flowers if holding bouquet while walking stairs will be a problem. I just think the image of you coming down the stairs with flowers in hand is more striking than being handed flowers at the end of your descend. Just my opinion.

Another GREAT point! Leaning more towards holding the flowers coming down ... :) Imma just walk down the steps a few times at home, so I can work it out at the spot ...That's the ornament I made for the girls, remember I said they weren't doing flowers ...you remember ... :)

Yes I remember they were doing the ornament but when I saw pic I thought you were deciding between the two for yourself to carry. What did you decide to put at the base of your centerpieces? You are doing the present boxes right?

Oh ok ...I thought you remembered, I didn't have a pic of me with just the bouquet ...sorry for the confusion .. :)

Yes ma'am, I'm doing the present boxes ...I got some small gold balls that we are going thread burgundy ribbon through the lopes then tie a bow to form a circle with the balls and put them around the boxes. When you say base, is that what you were talking about?

I mean bottom of boxes. You know how sometimes people scatter petals or confetti around something, or they put flowers of some sort around a centerpiece. Gold balls scattered around base sounds nice.

Yeah I am ...Me and FH were planning to go out -just us ...but I told him we can save that for after the wedding. Neither member on our team has mention a party for us ...and we did want a Co-ed one if we had one, bc FH doesn't want a bachelor party at all ...and I didn't want one "planned" for me bc of the headache I endured with the other 2 weddings this year. I think our team took us up on our wishes bc 3 weeks left and we haven't heard anything. So we are planning an US day before the wedding ...:) Not sure what yet though ...
