Linen or Plastic
Posted on: 11/19/2007 09:39 AM
hello ladies, i only have 3 weeks left, and i am just about to go crazy, i intended on doing the linen table cloths and chair covers, but man that is a very dear expense, i know years ago people had nice receptions without the chaircovers and all; i went to a wedding this past weekend, and yes the look was cute, but is it really necessary, cant you have a nice look with the plastic tablecovers as long as your decorations are nice, if anyone has pictures of receptions using plastic table cloths please post, this is a decision i need to make ASAP!!!!!

You could potentially go to a fabric store and buy some fabric in bulk and cut it to fit the tables.

That way you have the linen or fabric look without all the expense

the table cloths really isnt the expense. its those high tail chair covers, that is an extra 300.00; my mother is like we will do it, but i am like that money can go towards something i can really use, watcha think?

I want chair covers too, but your right they are outrageous, so I think I am going to buy some fabric (organza or tulle or something) and put bows around the back of the chair and use some artificial flowers to accent the bow instead of chair covers. Just because I don't want that extra expense unnecessarily. Depending on the venue the chairs may not be that ugly.

girl, i feel ya, that was my thing too, i saw where you can cover the top of the chair in tulle and put a flower on the back; after the wedding i went to saturday and the timeframe it took to say i do and at the reception, kids were pulling on the bows around the chair covers, i think its confirmed, i may just do the covers for the bridal party only. that money can go towards xmas and the bills .

Luckly the venue we are using supplies the chaircovers at no extra charge, because they can be pricey. Eventhough you would like to have the chaircovers you dont necessarily need them. And honestly people wont even remember. I have been to numerous weddings and I never heard anyone saying dang those chaircovers were nice. If they are not on your must have list, then scratch them off and get something you really want.

that is so true, the most thing people have something to say is whether or not the food was good and if they enjoyed the reception.
