Red / Gold table Decor
Posted on: 10/29/2007 09:31 AM
Is this too "dark" for a spring wedding?

Should I use an ivory tablecloth, gold runner, and red flower centerpieces instead? Any other ideas and/or pics you ladies may find would be appreciated as well. Round or rectangular tables.

That's beautiful. If you plan to plan the rules of tradition, I would say that it's too dark for spring. But, if you want to follow the VIbride rule, I say go for it! Your Day, Your Way!

No its not...It has a "rich" feel. Get your invitees ready by including these colors on the invite and the save the date cards....A Spring wedding is a misnomer...it has everything to do with the time of year but that doesn't mean you have to play up that time of year. People who get married in Jamaica in the winter months (Nov-March) definitely don't do a "Winter-themed" wedding! They do it Caribbean style! So you can think of it that way.

You can play up the colors with a different theme like "royalty" since you're including a few of the colors considered as such. Also play up the colors because they are colors of love and romance. I would even go as far as to add some rich eggplant, deep purples, deep coral/oranges, and/or deep fuschias or magentas to complement the richness of your color palatte.

I think you should go with the Ivory to bring out the gold and red. I think Ivory is a soft color. This picture here is lovely.

Hi Future, I agree with Lady Erica, for your spring wedding I think an ivory table cloth would work best. However, I am the first to say your day, your way!!!!!

Hello there FutureMrsKeepup,

Have you perhaps considered an Ivory table cloth, with a sheer overlay of burgundy and then your Gold runner. It would look so very regal. Your china would be Ivory with deep red and gold trims. Your champagne glasses could all have gold rims and you could use alternatively, burgundy and gold napkins on alternate napkin rings (if you're doing a burgundy napking, use a gold ring or a gold napkin with burgundy rings.

I think your taste is absolutely divine. Before I go too far, what time is the reception? That also make a difference in your choice of colors as well.

Good luck to you

Thanks ladies! My reception is at 6 in the evening. My MOH's aunt works for a linen rental company and told me to try to find some pics of the different ideas I was giving her. I have an appointment to visit the reception hall tomorrow (the last time I was there was for a repass so I don't remember the decor or lighting). I think I will go with the ivory tablecloths but she said she has some things to show me as well. I'll take pics when we do my mock-ups so you ladies can help me decide!

Gorgeous colours my dear! These are more colours for winter as they are rich colours, but as the other girls said - "Your Day, Your Way!!"

Absolutely beautiful though!

A compromise could be an ivory tablecloth with a burgundy sheer overlay. This would help lighten the look up some.
