Chair Cover Express...
Posted on: 10/10/2007 12:28 PM
Has anyone every used or know of them? Chair Cover Express they seem pretty reasonable, I have been shopping around and local shops are charging over $1,000 for 250 chair covers and stashes (including set-up). I received a quote from Chair Cover Express today and its only $778 including round trip shipping (that's $2.00 for the cover and $.30 for the bow). Of course, you have to set-up, tear down, and return the chair covers unless you live 25-50 miles from any of their main locations (Louisville, KY, Arbor, MI, Miami, FL, and Los Angeles, CA). What are your thoughts ladies?

I personally thing this expense is a bit much (for my budget when I was getting married)....If you can afford it, then by all means! Go for it!....However, there are many venues that include the use of chair covers with bows in their fee or it comes along with the package....I know a caterer who provides them at 1.50/chair with the bow color of your choice included. Of course with many of the venues, this cost is already included so sometimes it appears to be included at no extra charge....but we all know better....If you find any venues that do include chair covers with bows try this: See how much of a discount you get off the top of the price as if you didn't want the chairs....then compare that to your outside vendors, and see if its better....so if you got 1000.00 off your price at a hotel for example, then of course it would be cheaper to go with the quote for 778.00....

Wow!!!! I didn't know that it was so expensive to rent chair covers. ElegantBride the quote you received from Chair Cover Express is cheaper, if that is something you want, then go for it.

I think the price you were quoted is reasonable. Mine came in a little under that (but that's because we opted to pick-up/drop-off & install them ourselves). I only got chair covers because the chairs at the location were dirty looking (not to mention the color was all wrong).
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

I think that is a good price but it just depends on what your venue offers
Our wedding is at the Renaissance Hotel
The hotel offers chair covers but at a cost of $6.50 each
So I think thhat the price is good based upon what it is costing us. The only downside to using an online vendor is that you would be respnsible for making sure they are all put out and then returned properly. I plan on leaving immediatly for my honeymoon and wouldnt want that responsibility.

Would it not be cheaper to buy fabric and do it yourself (I have no clue about fabric costs so I'm just guessing)

But if that's not a reasonable or feasible thing then I would use Chair Cover Express

That price is quite reasonable Elegant. We went to a wedding fair on Sun at our wedding venue and the cheapest chair covers were £4 per chair. We're having 100 for the wedding breakfast so that's £400. That's pretty much what your paying at Chair Cover Express and you're having 50 covers!

Why is everything much more expensive in London??!!

Chair covers and sashes are great if you can truly afford to have them without going over your budget by too much. It's not an absolute neccessity. Some venues have very nice chairs, and as bumblebee stated, some venues also include them in their fee, though still expensive. I'm not sure if we will have any chair covers at our wedding. We did not budget for them and left them as an extra, in case we come in under budget or something, then we might, but otherwise, we're not going to.

I really need to go with chair covers because the chairs are just ugh! My budget is getting thin and this is still on the options list. I want them and he says we don't really need them. So I'm thinking just at the wedding party table. Most places arround here a charging around $5.00/cover without the sash. Sashes are $2.00 each. I'm thinking about Chair Cover Express. I will be less than 100 miles from Ann Arbor, MI.

Venues usually charge about 6.00 a chair. I myself would shop around before ordering those chair covers.

Yeah, I wish chair covers were included because the chairs are very ugly and will really stand out. I am just a little unsure of the whole shipping process. I know we will be leaving right after the reception and if I designate a person to tear down and ship them, I know I will be worried during the whole honeymoon lol. So, I will probably shop around some more.

Tewright1 I would definitely go with them if I lived in the area. I really don’t think you can beat the price of less than three bucks because they really do change the décor of the room.

If the chair covers are out of budget, you can always invest in enough ribbon or tulle to make a beautful bow. I have seen some very nice decoration-sans chair covers....Some people even put a bunch of flowers on the chairs for a garden-like effect....All you need is some extra time to work on a sample, get someone with talent to copy it, and oversee whoever is going to help you do it. That can save hundreds of dollars right there.

No problem. Let us know what you decide. I am sure you can search from some examples. I always look for trends-especially bargains and $$-saving ways to decorate, so in my search last year I saw this a lot in magazines....It does save money if you DIY, but its also a unique change from the usual chair-covers also...

Re: Chair Cover Express...

Hi! I just wanted to post a warning about Chaircover Express. I had ordered chair covers from this company for my wedding. Out of all the things that I REALLY, REALLY wanted at my wedding was chair covers. Much to my dismay, my chair covers never arrived. The company guarantees the covers to arrive 1-2 days prior to the event. When I had not received them by Thursday evening (2 days prior) we called and were told that they would ABSOLUTELY be there by 730 pm Friday night. The woman we spoke to did not provide a tracking number. So ok, after having my mom wait at her house all day instead of coming to the hotel to help me set up, the covers never arrived. Unfortunately, by 730 pm Friday there wasn't anyone left at the office to speak to nor did anyone call us before they left the office to verify that we received the linens. We tried every possible number we could find related to this company...probably 4-6 different numbers found online or in the rental agreement. We tried calling UPS multiple times but we had no tracking info so of course they were unable to provide any information. I was in tears...the last thing I wanted to be doing the night before my wedding. We finally received a phone call the next day in the late AM...lots of apologies and offer to try and get them to the event. Well the event was 10 hours from the business location no good to us a few hours before the wedding. We found out that the Chaircover Express had ground shipped the linens Thursday night!!! Seriously! Ground Shipped!! OMG. If the woman had bothered to even check the tracking page on UPS she would have seen that the linens would not be scheduled to be delivered by 730pm Friday (more like the following Tuesday!!!) and maybe, just maybe they could have figured out a way to get them to me but of course not by the time they actually returned my many calls. We had everyone in the wedding party trying to locate the IN TRANSIT chair covers or another rental place but the linens were sitting in some warehouse 8 hours away and anything local (within 2 hours) had to order their linens and did not carry any in-stock. Not only did this company ruin the entire look of my wedding but they wasted my time and my family/friends' time Friday and Saturday. Additionally, I had rented fancy tablecloths and table overlays to compliment the look of the chairs. As this was from another company, they arrived and were set up...however, I would never have paid all this extra money if I hadn't gotten the chair covers. It was silly, I had these very fancy tables but ugly chairs. So, if you really want chair covers at your wedding...DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I would be happy to email anyone proof of this huge error (I have a screen shot of the tracking info). I would hate for anyone else to deal with the disappointment I have dealt with. A final note...I got my money back but aside from a card with apologies, that was it.

Welcome to the site TurtleDove! I actually just ordered my chair covers from chaircoversonline.com. They have various locations throughout the US, and I just checked and Dallas is listed. I don't know what you are looking to pay, but to give you an idea, I gave them an estimate of 210 chair covers, and my total is $730.00. This includes delivery and set-up. You should check out the site and give the Dallas office a call if this is something you might be interested in.

Hey ladies...
I found another chair cover site that is super cheap.
They are based right outside of metro Atlanta so I was actually able to go by there to see their inventory

There chair covers are about 1.75 each
they run specials too if you order early enough in advance

I've used chaircoversonline a lot in the past and have never had an issue with the service. You must order it with ample time in advance, making sure that the delivery will be a week prior to your event though. I don't know, but I'm really anal about coming under deadline when I'm handling an event and I track everything, record the name of the rep that helped me and date each conversation. They're extremely affordable as compared to others. So if it's in your budget to do so, I say Go for it!!!
