I'm So Excited

I have been going back and forth about the thought of using a wedding planner and every time I think I can do it myself I get overwhelmed. As you know the wedding is in WV and I'm in Philly so thats even more difficult, especially since I don't know of any good planners in WV. So I was chatting with a Soror of mine who is an event planner about the wedding. I had assumed that she wasn't coming because WV is an 8 hour drive from here. She then said you know I'm coming down there because I have family there; do you need any help. And just like that I now have a wedding planner, yah!!!!!!!!
The thought of me having to decorate the reception site the day before the wedding was making me sick. I'm so glad that she will be there.

That is wonderful news!!! I'm so very happy for you. Using a planner will eliviate a lot of your stress. Sometimes we think that we can do it all ourselves, but it's far better to use a professional that will cater to your every whim. Congrats!!!

FH and I just had our first meeting with my wedding planner last night and she had all kinds of fantastic ideas. It feels great to relax a little bit and let somebody else stress about the budget, the venue, the caterer, etc. This is definately a blessing and I recommend anyone that can afford to have one at least on the day of to do it. It relieves a lot of stress for you so that you can really enjoy your day, rather than putting out fires.

That's great Ivy! Girl you are on your way.
I didn't have a planner for the wedding, however I did have a coordinator for the day of. It made things flow so much smoother, and helped me to concentrate on the task at hand and that was to enjoy my wedding day.

Congrats, Ivy! Keep us updated on your progress. You're right, a planner makes everything easier for the Bride. I wish I had one...lol!

Make sure you work out the details of how she is coming over there since she is officially a "vendor" that you will have to pay. My brother used a planner in TX where his then-fiance was living and at the last minute she decided that if they were not going to pay to fly her to FL for the wedding, then she isn't coming (and all Hades broke loose!)....I think that she had originally said she'd do it for free....so just draw those little details up in your contract!
