Processional ???
Posted on: 09/10/2007 08:36 PM
I know the motto is "your day, your way" BUT... :)

since FH mother is deceased and he is going to lay a rose in the pew for his mother is it ok for him to come in before my mother/grandmother are seated???

Well soon2bmsj,
After some research I see that the normal procession order is usually: Grandparents first, then mother of the groom, mother of the bride and then the groom enters, etc....Since the mother's would enter first, unless your FH truley wants to be the one to do the honor, another good idea would be to choose a female that he is very close to to walk in his mother's stead, carrying the rose and placing it in her seat. That way he can enter in the usual order....
My FH brother passed away and I was thinking of having his best man ( which would have been his brother, had he still been alive ) to carry a rose and stand in his place.... Just a thought

his sister was going to do this originally but he decided he wanted to do it (the flower in the pew) I will just have my grandmother/mom enter and then he can enter and lay his rose. I just wanted to try to keep it in order-by technically his mother entering first, but we can definetly deviate from the norm! :) thnxs for your idea...

If we get technical about the groom and BM are traditionally waiting at the alter and enter from a side door so the don't come down the aisle at all. Therefore you have a lot of lee-way to do this. Ask your FH what he would prefer. Will it be too emotional for him to come down 1st and then watch as you family elders enter? Maybe he wants to let them enter 1st to build up anticipation for his "grand entrance." See what he thinks and go from there.

this is exactly my thought...he is already going to be missing his mother that day, so I think that I am going to have my grandmother/mother seated first and then have him come in right after them. My g.mom/mom are coming in on You Are So Beautiful so I think it would be a nice ending to having him walk in right before the song ends and lay his flower in the pew. thnxs ladies for let me "throw" some ideas around!

**BUMPING**
I am bumping this topic because I am preparing for the wedding rehearsal

should the bell ringer come in first or the flower girl before the bride?

This is the order that I have so far:
-Ushers lighting candles
-Mothers/g. mother entrance
-Pastor
-Groom/Best Man
-Each Groomsmen will enter and walk down the isle alone
-Each Bridesmaid will enter and walk down the isle alone
-MOH

him then her or him and her. she should come right before you, they can walk really close together right behind eachother if you want.

well I was thinking of having the bell ringer (her) come in right after the wedding party, and then the flower girl right when the music starts for me...do you think that would be ok???

You have the right of it Soon ~ the bell ringer enters first, then the flower girls then you.
