Hi, Ladies. I haven't been on in a while but unfortunately I have to report that my wedding was postponed-again. In the past, FH and I were having financial difficulties. This time, it was due to circumstances beyond our control. We had a venue but thank God they understood our situation and wil hold our deposit. All we have to do now is give them another date. I have my dress, you can see it at www.bridalonlinestore.com, style#G01385.(I never figured out how to post pics, sorry) and all accessories.
Anyway, our relationship is very strong and we have both grown much closer to God. As of now, we haven't picked another date but I'll let you know when we decide. Please keep us in your prayers.
Plat, I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers! Everything will work out for the best and at the perfect time. Stay encouraged and good luck with everything. Also, keep us posted :)

It's all good Plat! Your dress is stunning at any rate. Take your time and get it right. A strong relationship speaks volumes more than any date you have/will set.
I was upset at first but my friends have been supportive. FH says "You have more time to get everything exactly the way you want it". Isn't he sweet? Anyway, it also gives me more time to hang out with my Vibride sistas.
Everything happens for a reason.....so like your FH says this could be a very good thing for you too. You have more time to make your day even better....We'll keep you in prayers....

Plat, you are in our prayers. Stay strong, and stay encouraged. Your FH IS right as Askalot said. Keep us updated so we can continue to make our prayers precise and specific. We are here for you, and yes, everything does happen for a reason. When its all said and done, you will be glad of the extra time you had to plan this weddding. Take advantage of that extra time. All of our love, and prayers:)
Plat I definately understand how you feel. FH and I have pushed our wedding date back and forth and around so many times because money I'm not even claiming a date persay. I just say April-Mayish.
However we're holding on to the same hope that your FH has that it will work out and will be even better than we expected because we pushed it back....Again.

A couple weeks ago FH was at church and had spent the morning teaching as usual. After Sunday school was over he joined the service and there was some serious worship going on. The Holy Spirit came upon EVERYONE in the service and folks were comming up to one another laying hands upon each other, praying, and prophesying.
FH was approached by a young man known for being very immature but also kind hearted. The young man put both is hands on FH and said:
"Stop worrying about your wedding. God said He's already got your wedding together. Everyone you love will be there. "
Those words gave me so much relief and I hope they will do the same for you.

Hey sistas. I'm baaaack. I am/was pretty much in the same situation as Plat. So much has happened in the last couple of months. Between purchasing a home, school, playing wifey & mommy, and 2 deaths, (MIL '05 & FIL '06), & trying to settle the estate, we've had to postpone the wedding twice. As of now, we've come up with either Sept. 5, 2009 his date,(it may be too da** hot in Atlanta Labor Day weekend) or October 17, 2009, my date.
Anyhoo, I am back sistas for the duration.
Plat, stay focused on what's priority and don't let foolishness rent space in your head to discourage you. And this too shall pass.
Welcome back Leanne, I'm sorry to hear that you're date was postponed as well. But, with the dates you have now, you can really plan the wedding of your dreams.

Lol. I'm considering a date in the fall or spring now because I love heat. But, I don't want to deal with sweltering Florida temperatures of the summer months. Can I still be cute in 100+ degrees?
Florida weather is so unpredictable. Plat, don't get married during hurricane season/summer. Remember, I got married in December (foolproof, right? Sike!), and it was HOT (like high 80s)!

Plat and Leanne I am new to the Vibe and we having been tossing dates around but I think we have decided on 8-8-08. I have been married before to the wrong man but I let go and let God and he sent me the most wonderful man in the world because I waited on him. We have had our struggles but we just put our trust in the Almighty. and he ALWAYS works things out. It's hard not to worry about "things" that we can't even change so my advise to you is Let go and Let God!! All things work together for good....

Your dress is absolutely fabulicious!!! In my opinion as a Wedding Consultant and your Vibride sister is to stick to updos. For example,
