California Caterers ??
Posted on: 08/09/2007 10:28 AM
I am the MOH and wedding planner for my best friends wedding. I'm in Georgia she's in Long Beach, Ca. Her wedding will be in Cali. She is totally not into the wedding planning thing so I'm trying to get her organized.

The catering services I've found online is like $60 pp and that is OUTRAGEOUS !!

So I am trying to find some local ones that could do it for 15 to 25 per person. Many cool caterers may not even have a website so maybe you all can help.

Thanks !!

Don't live in Cali but from what I hear $60 pp is good, if not low, for a banquet hall in that area. My suggestion would be to locate a hall you can rent that will allow you to bring in your own food. Maybe a Legion Hall, VFW Hall, park district, or the like. HTH!

Welcome to the site mamafree!

I am not from Cali either but I wish I could find $60 a person. That is a great price. What kind of reception are you having? Will it be sit down or buffet? I agree with FMKU though. Bringing your own food would drastically reduce the cost.

Good luck!

Well she said she wanted it to be at night, buffet style. Wow, in GA the caterers charge a lot less than that. But we always use people we know, like church members. She won't have much help so even if we did bring our own food I dont know who would be there to set it up and moniter it.

She's saying 150 will be invited. This is going to be expensive I see.

Pardon my rudeness...WELCOME TO THE BOARD MAMAFREE!

Now, have her talk to some of the owners of restaurants she likes. They may provide catering or allow her to rent out the restaurant. If she's a loyal customer they may give her a good deal!
