Matron and Maid of honor
Posted on: 07/29/2007 01:43 PM
Hello Ladies....
I have a maid and matron of honor. My problem was I could not decide on who should be my maid of honor. So to avoid hurt feelings, I chose to have both. My dilema now is who walks alone, should they both or should I have the one I've known the longest walk by herself??

We go by the theme "your way, your day" around here. So however you decide to do it, its the right way....Now if you would like an idea, I had both, so My Maid of Honor walked with the best man (groom's brother), and the matron of honor simply walked with another groomsman (who happened to be her husband-and my husband's very dear friend) So it can also depend on if you want the matron of honor's husband in the wedding (per your fiance's choice). I wouldn't worry about someone's feelings being hurt, like I said, however you decide to do it is okay!
Is there a tradition for one of them to walk alone or with someone?

thanks for your input. My Matron's husband is a friend of my husbands', however he is not in the bridal party. I don't think there is a tradition(or none that I could find) on who should walk alone or who should come down first before the bride.

Why not have your maid of honor enter with the bestman and have your matron of honor enter by herself. On the way out the maid and matron of honor can both exit with the bestman. Or you can have the maid and matron walk down togethor.
