Are my colors too dark for August??
Posted on: 04/28/2007 12:56 PM
I have an obsession with the color Claret, it is a very beautiful wine.....burgandy color. I am implementing Gold and Cream into the scheme as well. Some people think my colors are too dark for summer, but I think they will be beautiful considering August is the last month of summer, and my wedding will be after 5p.m. What do you ladies think??

I personally think that the rules of colors and seasons are changing. Now of days brides are breaking all the rules and doing what they want to do to make there special day beautiful. My wedding colors are Latte, Champagne, Ivory, and accents of Gold. These colors are considered fall colors but the are the colors that I like. Do what you feel is right.

Welcome Bigdzwife! No I don't think that your colors are too dark for August. As Housewife states, the colors rules are changing. You have a beautiful color scheme and it will be just fine! I have a personal rule when it comes to wedding planning -- it's your day, do it your way! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Bigdzwifey76, one thing that I have learned on this site is that it's your wedding, you can have what YOU want. Those colors sound wonderful and I can't wait to see the pictures.
What day in August are you getting married?

ooh! I LOVE those colors! Colors can NEVER be too dark for August. It is coming up on Fall and you have more room to play with themes. Some brides celebrate Fall Themes then!

Bigdzwifey,
Welcome, I have the same color scheme. I worried about the same thing, but the ivory/cream is really beautiful together and my accent color of gold really makes it elegant. My wedding starts at 4:00 p.m. I say you have made an excellent choice:)
