Wedding from hell
Posted on: 03/28/2007 08:52 AM
Did anyone see the episode of Judge Mathis (this week) where a couple was suing their wedding planner? It was horrific. Anyway, they were suing her because she hadn't finished the dresses that she had been paid for and she didn't show up to the wedding until it was time for the reception. Footage of the wedding was played and it was sad. I felt sorry for the couple. I was almost in tears. The groomsmen had to give the bridemaids their suit jackets to walk down the aisle. The bride looked livid. You could see her expression wasn't pleasing. (no smiles at all) Not only that but the planner told the judge that she was late because she had car trouble but on the wedding day she told the couple that she had had car trouble. Then because of all the tention of the planners' nephews got into a fight with some people at the reception. The couple did win the lawsuit and some. It was a lesson to be learned. Make sure everything is done at 30days in advance, except maybe the food.

Hey there Leanne, OMG I didn't see that, but my heart goes out to that couple as well. Planning is key to having a successful event. I'm glad they won their lawsuit.

I saw it and wanted to throw something at the planner's head! She was pretty smug about it too. The fight with the 4 or 5 guys was crazy. I almost cried for her when I saw the bridesmaids wearing jeans and tuxedo jackets from the groomsmen. It was nice that everyone clapped for her while she walked down the aisle. It seemed to encourage her to smile. So sad.

I hear stories all the time about wedding professionals riping off couples, and destroying there weddings. It is very sad but seemingly becoming more common.

Bridesmaids having to wear jeans and tuxedo jackets? Oh hell no! That planner needs her butt kicked!! I don't blame the bride for suing but she should also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to the planner.

Welcome back Leanne! You are so right! Your deadline dates for you wedding should be at least a month in advance at the latest. If you have any problems shipping, dress fittings etc. they can be all taken care of in plenty of time for your wedding. So many brides leave NO BREATHING ROOM in case things go wrong. You would be suprised how many orders we get for items needed in 3 days! WHat if there is a snow storm and UPS can't deliver?? LOL

Looking really good there Classy.
