I think this poem is beautiful... I thought I would share.. enjou.

LOVE
by Roy Croft

I love you,
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.

I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.

I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can't help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find.

I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple;
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.

I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good,
And more than any fate
To make me happy.

You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.

I couldn't imagine saying this poem to my FH on our wedding day...I probably won't get through it. Are there any other ways I can use this for the wedding? By the way, my wedding date is September 23rd 2006. I'm glad I found this site. I have already received some great tips from this forum already!

K, this is the most beautiful poem EVER! OMG

I really really have to use this. Thanks so much. Only problem is - I don't know if I could get through it without sobbing uncontrollably and I REALLY don't want that to happen.

This wedding planning process has turned me into a punk.lol For real-I am overly emotional or something. I am not normally the "emotional" type but all of a sudden, I want to cry when I see stuff and I feel so girly girly all of a sudden.lol So not cool. So, on my wedding day, I will be a big puddle of messy tears if I even start to say this poem to him.
