cake topper
Posted on: 06/29/2006 02:37 AM
Ok, I am debating on cake toppers - flowers vs. people... my big issue was finding an Asian Man topper and a black female topper that are about the same size. Look at this topper: does this look like an asian man or just a dude w/ his eyes closed?!

Me too! Why not have both? You can do a flower ring around a caketop base and it would be the perfect frame for your figurines.

We have interracial bride and groom mix and match figurines. You can't see the asian groom's face in the pics but you can see the asian bride's. The eyes are open and almond shaped. He looks more asian to me.

I like those cake toppers. I might be buying me one. Since I have tight eyes it would be noce to have a black bride with "almond" eyes and a black groom.

hey guys! ya girl is BACK!! I had a hellish time in mississippi, it was hot and humid it rained on the 4th, my family is crazy and was arguing most of the time we were there... but the actual family reunion and stuff was sooooooooooo much fun! We will be hosting it in CA in 2010, so now I have two things to plan for... I love taking on too much... it makes me feel busy and important, anyway, I'm sleep deprived so I'm babbling... I looooooove the toppers Ms. Rosey! They are exactly what I was looking for and they are THE SAME SIIIIZE! WOO HOO! I love this site, I missed you all, I will never go away again, how come my pic aint showin up? Its ok, I'll find another one, see, i'm sleepy so I keep rambling, lemme shut up now.

The fam reunion was great indeed. I have about 4 years to plan the one here in CA. I am trying to think of what people would want to do. There were quite a bit of kids present and I am considering their age in in four years and the fact that most of them have never been here before. I am calling disney tomorrow to ask them to give me their proposal for costs on a 150 ppl family reunion. YES! 150! Grandad was 1 of 14, my dad is 1 of 10, of those 10 bros/sis 9 of them have children & grandchildren. So its not hard to get to 150 and THAT is a conservative estimate. 200ppl registered for the mississippi fam reunion.

I want a family reunion...I have never been to my family reunion in 22 years of living. I went with my god aunt to hers and thats only because I was braiding her hair afterwards.

Glad you like it FutureMsLee! Family Reunions are fun. I went to a family reunion in South Carolina (where my family is from) and they did a whole history background tracing our family roots back to a slave by the name of Glasco! I tell you it was awesome, and so very informative!!!

isn't it exciting to hear where you came from. my family is stuck in trying to find out who my gr8 grandfathers father was. we know he was a white man but we don't know his name. We have traced him to a white man named Augustus McDaniel and members of the McDaniel family that are still alive say that when my gr8 gf used to come around he would bounce them on his knee and they called him Uncle. The only way to know for certain is for a McDaniel male to take a DNA test w/ one of the men in my fam to see if we are related. My grandfather took on his mothers name. my gr8 gf was born in 1888.

Ok, I am getting married in 9 count em 9 days and it took me forever to find my cake topper, I went to Lenox online and they have a gorgeous one! Its nine inches, with 24 karat gold highlights, etc... It took them about 3 days to ship it and I love it! Much luck to everyone here!

I dont think I will get a bride and groom cake topper. I still want the acrylic heart with our picture and engraving on it. Come to think of it thats the only thing that has stayed constant throughout this whole wedding planning. So I guess I better head to the studio and take those pictures huh...

That man looks asian to me. I am also debating on a cake topper. I was looking for the cake topper with the bride dragging the groom, monograms, or going to get a professional to make cake toppers that resemble my fh and myself. What do you ladies think?

Housewife I think it all depends on what you and your fh want, the bride dragging the groom is funny! But I also like the idea of having a cake topper that resembles the actual bride and groom to....ah decisions, decisions, decisions!

Here are my choices for a cake topper, tell me what you think. The first one is $145 and the second is $20 for the bride $20 for the groom and $5 for the base:
#1

Base for #2

Number one is nice, but I also like the second one. It reminds me of a bride and groom standing at the alter saying there vows to one another.

I like #2. I'd spend the $45 oppose to the $145 in a heartbeat. But, not considering price, I still like #2. Do they have it where the dress could be ivory?

That's what has got me. My dress is ivory so I would like for the bride for #2 to have an ivory dress to but it only comes in white. Yes Rhonda you are right about #1 it sould set everything off, it matches my colors perfectly. My husband says that I can have whatever I want, but I am having a hard time making this decision.

That's why I searched so hard for really nice cake toppers, because the ones I had seen before looked a hot mess!!! I am glad that you like the ones I found.
