"I don't like to exercise because I get bored doing the same thing all the time."

This is probably the second most common excuse for not exercising, with the most common being "I'll start tomorrow."


It's too bad that boredom is such a common reason for people to stop exercising and give up on their weight-loss and fitness goals.

Fact is, overcoming boredom as it relates to exercise doesn't have to be complicated.

Now there is some truth in our boredom excuse statements.


I mean, think about it for a second. Who wants to do the same thing day after day without seeing results or getting any type of satisfaction?

So it's only natural that if people are not able to make their workouts effective and enjoyable, the more likely he or she will give up on their goals.

I know that getting bored with exercise can affect anyone, from the new kid on the block to the seasoned exercise veteran. In fact, everyone will eventually reach a point where he feels that his workouts are getting stale.

That's why people who are just starting to exercise should look to several "starter" exercises to keep their interest high, rather than choosing only one simple exercise such as walking.
